A man is about to face court charged with manufacturing explosives at a Queensland home rocked by a major blast last week.
The blast at a West Ipswich home tore a 37-year-old man's hands to pieces on Thursday. Another man, 43, suffered only minor injuries.
Since then, the police bomb squad has been detonating stockpiles of highly explosive chemicals at the property.
Police say the chemicals are highly explosive - "not the sort of thing you'd find at Bunnings".
Investigators are still trying to determine why the chemicals were at the house.
A 43-year-old man has been charged over last week's blast, police said on Monday.
He is accused of attempting to destroy property by explosives, unlawful deposition of explosives or noxious substances and manufacturing explosives without authority.
