Nope, not an elitist fuckwit at all:
Boris Johnson has described Ukip voters as peasants in revolt after Eurosceptic parties swept to victory across the union.
The London mayor painted a scene of "pitchfork-wielding populists" converging on Brussels "drunk on local hooch and chanting nationalist slogans and preparing to give the federalist machinery a good old kicking with their authentically folkloric clogs".
Writing in the Telegraph, he compared Eurosceptic parties, including Ukip, Dutch rightwing firebrands and Greek anti-capitalists, to people taking part in "a kind of peasants' revolt" or a "jacquerie" – a bloody uprising against the French nobility in 1358.
However, Johnson concluded that this would be a boost for David Cameron, despite the Conservatives having come third in a national election for the first time.
Casting the results in a positive light for the Tories, he insisted that it would help the prime minister in his attempts to renegotiate with the European Union as Brussels would not be able to ignore the "vulgar expressions of democratic feeling".
this is not how you persuade the public to be on your side
I love Boris!
Boris Johnson is fucking hilarious. He just says what he wants, when he wants and how he wants without giving much of a shit about how it's received. :v:
Its funny because its kinda true but no one wants to admit or say it publically, UKIP only got where they are because of protest votes and certain people who really don't know what they are voting for.
Oh Boris, you oaf.
Well, I can see where he's coming from
Peasants? At least they brush their hair you mangy twat.
he's kinda right though really
I never knew Boris Johnson wrote for the telegraph.
I asked one of my friends at college the other day who they voted for, and she said UKIP, then we asked why. She said she didn't know, her mum voted for them and didn't even understand what she was voting for at all. I think the fact that UKIP has been so prevalent in the media, regardless of the reasons, has influenced a lot of people's votes. Just saying UKIP is controversial and has a lot of weight to it. I dunno, either way I think It's okay to publicly insult a party widely associated with racism, if you're ready to face the consequences considering the following they have.
Alixandah seems like an extremely butthurt pleb.

wow shes a tool
What a stupid way to criticize UKIP
It is really hard to do such a bad job at it, seeing how it is the racist party
I see the rise of euroscepticism as analogous to the French Revolution, a mold-breaking phenomenon which was resolutely opposed by the European elites of the time but went on to change the face of the whole continent.
Sooner or later someone like Boris will come out with a "let them eat cake" moment and then the real fun will begin.
Way to respect democracy!
lmao at this desperation to discredit UKIPs success. "Oh, UKIP only won because of X or Y".
How ignorant can you get? But I guess realizing your policies is losing favour with the public is just too much to ask. No one could ACTUALLY be sceptical toward current immigration policy or the EU.
Enjoy losing even harder next time.

Boris Johnson is the mayor of London, where most people oppose UKIP, like anyone would care if Boris said anything. He's called UKIP supporters "peasants" and I don't sense a revolution occurring anytime soon, not in the conventional sense anyway.
Makes me want to vote UKIP.
more like a dum dum revolt
That comparison is an insult to the peasant community!
And this is politics, people: looking at a variety of bad options and choosing which one is least shit. At least in the UK.
noblemen, swerve

In a long, cunty, name-dropping post that only exists because you're desperately trying to justify your expensive, but ultimately worthless, sociology degree.
