[NORWAY] Man threatened to blow up Bergen city hall.

This unveiled live on my twitter feed. It was exciting :v:
Police have arrested a man outside the Old Town Hall in the center.
The man reportedly told that he had a bomb in his backpack, reports BT (Local newspaper).
Bomb Threat
When the City Council about to resume the meeting after a recess, they were informed that there had been "a situation" and that the hall had to be evacuated.
- I can confirm that we're onsite because of bomb threat against the city hall, said operations manager Ole Jakob Malmo in Hordaland police district.
- The man is in police custody pending interrogation in the afternoon, said efforts manager Jan Bredo Andersen.
Could have been a joke
Andersen says bomb threat may have been intended as a joke, but the content of the man said was so severe that politicians perceived threat as real.
- From the conversation it emerged that he had explosives on him, says Andersen.
Norvald Visnes is a former head of the south Bergen police. He spoke with the arrested person for several minutes until police arrived.
Visnes not want to say anything to bt.no about what happened.
- I told you I know the police, says Conservative politician and former police officer.
- Backpack with explosives
It was after lunch council chamber was evacuated.
- As we were about to start the meeting at 12, representative Peter Christian Følich was in the bathroom. There he met a man with a backpack. The man said, "You have not long to live. I have a bomb in my backpack, "says Deputy Mayor Tor Woldseth.
Frølich told the Woldseth and group leaders decided to evacuate the council chamber. As they emerged from the building, they saw the man standing at the corner of City Hall. He was taken to the side, and the politicians alarmed the police.
Former sheriff of Fana, Norvald Visnes (H) took care of the man and spoke to him.
Armed police
Eventually came the police instead. They approached the man. Meanwhile politicians stood and waved people away from the place.
- It felt like it took a really long time before the police arrived, said Geir Kaland (H).
Armed police approached the man, who lay on the ground. He was taken care of by the police, who kept him at gunpoint with live weapons.
Group leaders should have a meeting to consider whether to continue the council meeting after this. Part of the assessment must take into account is that two of the members experienced the terror of Utøya.
Light Rail evacuated (Famous in Bergen)
Light Rail was evacuated after bomb release.
Passenger Janne Berit Stokke says the driver stopped at Nygård and informed that there was a bomb threat in downtown.
- He said we could not go any longer and that we just had to get off. At the same time we heard lots of sirens from the downtown area, she said.
- People walked quietly off. There was no panic, adding Stokke.
Security Trond Magne Målsnes the Light Rail says it was the police who ordered the Light Rail to stop at Nygård.
- We have had close contact with the police all the way. Now we have been told that we can run normally, he said.
Sorry for crappy translation, I looked for the most severe mistakes google translate made, but I suspect it's far from perfect. Kjetil Vevle, a man who was in the meeting is someone I follow on twitter. He was at Utøya last year, during the massacre of 69 youths. Imagine surviving that, and then getting a bomb threat a little over a year later. Must be hell.
Seems it resolved quite peacefully. No one fired a single shot, no one got hurt. Everybody survived

That sounds really weird... If he had a bomb in his backpack, why would he just stand there and say that, and if someone else was in control, why didnt they blow it? Also, to you who read the article, "Sharp weapons" doesnt mean pikes and swords, it means live ammunition, its just a weird translation

Yeah. Earlier this year a man set himself on fire outside the courthouse where Breivik was. He didn't have any political reasons at all. No reasons. We Norwegians don't know exactly how to do political terrorism :v: (Fixed the sharp weapons thing)
