that fucking weeb shit and the creepy pasta stuff was spot on
It's like they think that it's better to explicitly describe every detail in a horror story
I mean its funny where 13 year olds want to express themselves for ideas they think they might work, i think that we all have written our own little fanfictions once or twice before in school or something but really those need to be kept to yourselves, alot of people that post these horrid fanfictions don't think twice and think its okay.
Thought I recognized Guru Larry's voice. Also Ryan Styles.
I dislike fanfiction due to the fact that instead of writing something original and creative, you are using someone else's work. This also means that a lot of the time the people who are writing it are brain dead or messed up.

I disagree, great things can come from it on the rare chance it's done good and right. All those video game novels and star wars novels are just basically fan fictions but they still sell and are good.
The thing that separates the good ones from the bad ones is the ability to inject your own creativity and original ideas into already existing ones.

but yea you won't find that on Fanfiction.net
There are a good number of Creepypasta stories that are on the internet that originated ON the internet.
Most writers today are just:
nostalgia for game> get game from spooky Gamestop with worn label> game knows narrators name> spoopy shit> blood> hyperrealistic gore> end.
It's a shame really, now with such a formula the really old game related creepypastas look like shit since they follow said formula.

Yeah no.
I wrote some stories for assignments, but never fanfictions.
I wonder if any of the stories were actual submissions.

"ORIGINAL CONTENT, DO. NOT. STEAL!!!!"

For sure there are all kinds of shit on fanfiction.net, but there are fantastic and very imaginative writings there, like Mass Effect Human Revolution (don't let the title fool you, it is to fanfictions what Breaking Bad is to TV series).

Where else? DeviantArt? I never actually saw any decent fanfic on DA.
Also, just saying, but a lot of fanfictions are better than some of the official books of the universe they're based on, or sometimes better than some of the games/films/whatever themselves.

but at the same time, you also have to be careful not to go too far with that, because otherwise you'll lose the feel of the original source material and you end up with nothing.
like the vast majority of reboots.
God I winced so much at the Vocaloid one because it was so real.
Holy fuck, I legitimately felt sick during that anime one around 6:23
I dislike most fanfictions(and by extension fandoms) because they usually horrifically exploit or ignore key junctions and parts of the lore to set up their own god damn story.
There are good fanfictions out there that surf through the universe in a separate space that follows the lore and most good lores have plenty of breathing room to create a good story but people just wanna slap themselves or their 'alternates' inside the story.
(I know I used to do it, and I kept writing because I knew it was shit and I needed to flush it outta the system.)

Writing within source materials and writing fanfiction in general can be a great way to get your voice and style of writing down but don't ever use it to make yourself feel better.
I could not handle the 'stories' at the end. I believe I broke my cringe gland.
