NVIDIA has sent out press invites for their event on March 3rd in San Francisco where the company is expected to announce a new gaming product.
The invite mentions the product is in the making for the last five years, and will redefine the “future of gaming.”
It's either a 980 Ti or the Shield 3. Prepare for the future of videogames to be redefined all over again for like the hundredth time, I guess.
Yet another peripheral no one will buy?
It can't be a shield 3, the article says they've been working on this for 5 years.
Titan II ?
Titan II with 6.5GB + 0.5 of 448bit GDDR5.

They will tease a new maxwell gpu then "lol jokes" and show off an X1 tablet in a horrifying green black colour scheme that a grand total of 8 people will want
this is Nvidia we're talking about
Nvidia vr
At least they're not saving PC gaming.
It's gotta be either VR or a VR input tool, 'redefine the future of gaming' is just too obvious
NVIDIA VRSYNC
OUR COOL PROPRIETARY TECH ALLOWS FOR AN ABSOLUTELY NEGLIGIBLE QUALITY DIFFERENCE FOR ONLY 200$
IT'S KEY FEATURES ARE DUMB PR BUZZWORDS THAT AN AVERAGE PERSON WON'T UNDERSTAND AND WILL FALL FOR
ADDITIONAL FEATURES INCLUDE PROPRIETARY TECH BASED ON OPEN SOURCE TECH WITH MINIMAL DIFFERENCE BUT WE DON'T CARE BECAUSE WE LIKE MONEY
BUY YOURS TODAY
Probably a VR like the Oculus, and I don't blame them. I honestly think the Oculus and VR's like it will replace monitors for gaming, especially since they cost less than most monitors
I personally look forward to seeing whatever it is they're going to unveil. PR disasters or not, I still prefer Nvidia GPUs over AMD any day of the week. It's almost as clear-cut as the difference between AMD and Intel.
the only VR device with physX and responsive feedback! When you get shot in the face, it actually feels like you're getting shot in the face! Realistic blood spatters that look like runny raspberry jam included.

I can totally understand the Intel > AMD, but not so much Nvidia > AMD with GPU
then again I may be stuck in the past, but when I bought my 6970 it was a perfectly fine equivalent to the nvidia GPUs of the time

When it comes to marketing, everything is a redefinition of everything. In reality, it will be mundane.
I bet it's some cool (15min battery-life) gaming tablet or something! I CAN'T WAIT!
That or some cool new graphical tech we'll never see used in games.
Realistic dandruff simulation only eating 50% of your GFX performance.
Unified memory for PC?

Drivers.
Especially if you're not running windows.
Nvidia act like dicks, but they got those right.
I'd be down for an update to the Shield Clamshell version
It's going to be VR tech like VR SLI.
If it can't be used in conjunction with consoles then it will redefine jack-shit.

For me its this, I dunno if the situation has changed but I got burnt one too many times by ATi/AMD cards and driver problems. Never had any issues with nVidia (on any platform I have thrown at them).

I don't know who to trust anymore.
Had an ATI/AMD before .. the software made the PC boot up 30 seconds after I shut it off.
Switched to a 970 STRIX a week ago: Coil whining, screen flickering, game crashes. Sometimes it refuses to turn on the fans, even after it reached 53 degrees.

I never had any problems with Nvidia drivers until recently.
Something went fucked with the install I guess, and I couldn't see anything besides Sterescopic 3D -stuff on the Control Panel. Geforce Experience also just crashed after freezing for a few minutes and Shadowplay didn't work.
After fiddling around for few hours, I found out it was caused by having multiple displays attached. I pulled out the other cable and the options came back. Geforce Experience and Shadowplay were still fucked though.
So I fiddled around a few more hours and finally fixed the situation by uninstalling the drivers, running DDU in Safe Mode then performing a Clean Install on the latest drivers.
It's gotta be the RIVA TNT 3!
I've had experience with both sides, and I can say with absolute confidence that Nvidia blows AMD out of the water in every department except price. AMD is cheaper, but you really lose a lot of quality and reliability by saving that extra $100 or so.

Coil whine, in some cases, is caused by your GPU outputting a very large number of frames per second. This can happen if you're playing an older and/or less demanding game with v-sync off and your FPS is skyrocketing to 200 or higher. This may or may not be the case with your card, but it could be a potential culprit if that's what your doing.
And most 900 cards are designed to keep their fans off until they hit 60C. It's supposed to be another way for Nvidia to showcase Maxwell's crazy power efficiency and lower temperatures.

Most GTX970s only switch on the fans at 60C+, then run at about 74C under load

You could make tea with that
