How weird, I just watched this for the first time with my brother last night.
Shit is crazy, not what I expected at all. I always thought it was just a action movie.

[sp] Tyler Durden was the opposite of him. When the bullet went through his cheek, it went into the back of Tyler's head, because they are opposites.[/sp] That's what I got atleast

IN REGARDS TO PEOPLE ASKING ABOUT THE ENDING:
[sp]Throughout the movie, one of the main themes, and one of the ultimate goals of the narrator is to lose everything and "hit bottom". Tyler Durden was created by the narrator to help achieve this. If you think about it, commiting suicide really IS the ultimate solution to hitting bottom as you would literally have nothing more to lose. The narrator had every intention to kill himself, therefor when he pulled the trigger he proved to himself and Tyler that he is not afraid to hit bottom anymore, and therefor Tyler no longer needs to exist. However, the narrator got lucky and managed to miss any vital parts, and survives.[/sp]
