Wasn't Ron Paul a Republican candidate that made sense? Not really clued up on that sort of thing, but I know he was ignored by just about every media outlet.

Also I find it funny that Farage is pretty much the only libertarian in Ukip, the rest are just reactionary conservatives, old liberals and old Labour.

i remember when i was 17/18 and i thought i actually cared about politics. now it's just a case of looking at who is slightly less likely to fuck up economic policy because so little else will actually effect my life at all. even if a party has some insane agenda, chances are once they've managed to barely scrape their way into power, they won't be able to put any of their plans into action properly anyway

To be fair, Ukip's rational against gay marrige was more based on infringing on the rights of churchs rather than any genuine discrinimation.
