• How I Fucking Hate My Dog and Now I Can't Walk
    40 replies, posted
So, lets start off with my awesome dog Duke. We got him last Saturday, and I came home Sunday. I walked into the house, and he hurried outside cause I was new. I had hoped he would grow to like me, but everyday it's just gotten worse. I can't feed the dog because he won't eat it. If I'm the only one in the house he will just stay in my parents room, which is the farthest from our outside. He won't even come near me unless my mom is near, and even than we won't let me pet him, but lets get to the story. Today, my step dad had called me. He had told me that we had gotten a tree and to open the back gate. I get out of bed and put on some flip flops and go outside. I don't see my dog outside so I assume that he is in my parents room (Remember, its the farthest from the outside). So I go outside and open the gates, and than I hear my step dad freaking out. I am panicked and don't know what's going on. He points down the alley and is screaming.. Apparently my dog had ran down our alleyway and was trying to run away. I started sprinting after him, and within 10 seconds my flip flops had come off. I didn't stop though, because I needed to catch this dog. I was running down black rock like asphalt at 103 F. It was about 1/2 a mi, and i'm still chasing him. I get to the main street, and he nearly gets run over :C... I am still chasing him, but now I can't walk and I just fall into the grass. I see my step dad now and he pulls over, picks me up, and asks where the dog is. I tell him he's down the street and we get him. We go home and everybody gets out, but me. I can't even get out of the truck, because my feet are so fucking burnt and blistered. I had to sit in the truck for about 30 min until I crawled to the front door. I than had to crawl to the bathtub and I soaked them. I don't know what to do right now, because my feet hurt so fucking bad. They won't take me to the hospital, but I can't even walk.. Well done for persevering, but you can't really blame the dog for the ground being hot.
Well done for persevering, but you can't really blame the dog for the ground being hot.
I know, I don't. I am just aggravated and in shit tons of pain..
I know, I don't. I am just aggravated and in shit tons of pain..
Fair point. Damn though, I'd be sat with my feet in ice. And I'm sure your dog will grow to love you, it just takes time sometimes. Sit on the floor so you're more at his level, reach out your hand as an invitation and speak in a soft, reassuring voice, and hold eye contact. Maybe even tempt him over with some meat :)

Even if I drop it somewhere, or even in his food he won't eat it.. [editline]22nd July 2011[/editline]
Smoke a bowl?
I'm fucking dry..
Fuck your parents, call a fucking ambulance
Fuck your parents, call a fucking ambulance
I wish.. ugh. I don't have any good pain relief either, all I have is Aleve and I have no drugs and ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Tell your parents to get you some burn ointment or something. They can't just neglect you like that.
Tell your parents to get you some burn ointment or something. They can't just neglect you like that.
I had to wait for my mom to get home, and she took forever to come see me. I was laying on my bed and she looked at my feet and was like "I don't see anything wrong." and I was like " Uhm...?" and I told her I needed to go to the hospital and she was like "NO YOU DON'T. I'VE HAD WORSE..".........
Go ask some of your friends for some weed. Call some people up.
Go ask some of your friends for some weed. Call some people up.
I would, but also thanks to this dog and his hatred towards me, no one can come over till the dog likes me..
I've had boiling oil poured on my feet, got 2nd degree burns and couldn't walk properly for a few months. Whatever you do (despite what others have said), do not look the dog directly in the eye - when you look a dog in the eye the dog may consider you to be challenging it. If a dog is barking at you and you wish to show it you are alpha, you can stare it down but if the dog can be prone to violence towards you (especially if it does not already seem to like you) then that's not a very good idea because it might result in it attacking you (however if you're friends with a dog, then the dog wants eye contact with you to know you approve of it, and love it). The best advice I can give you is force the dog to spend time with you, make it come out for walks with you, the dog needs to learn that it depends on you somewhat. My dog was a bit mad when we first got her but there are little tricks to making the creatures respect you. Really, if you are determined for the animal to like you then it would be easier to just google the problem. Oh yeah and for your feet bath them in cold salt water and cut open those blisters to remove the liquid. [editline]23rd July 2011[/editline] Looking at those blister burns ignore my advice on cutting those blisters, they are far worse than I first anticipated, you can feel pain however so that's good. You need to wash them in ice cold salt water with soap (making sure the water is clean too). I think you have a minor 1st degree burn so its not all bad. Never put grease, ointments, lotions, antiseptics, or herbs other than aloe on a burn. [editline]23rd July 2011[/editline] You need to wash your feet straight away to stop the risk of those blisters becoming infected (and seeing you've been running bare foot? Your feet have all sorts of bacteria on them).
words
Yeah, first thing I did was I crawled and soaked my feet. The blisters on my toes are about an in? I think sticking out. Everyone has told me to pop them, but that didn't sound like a good idea and i'm glad I didn't. I might note that on my right foor (the worst) Theres a red blister, a black one, and a white one.. I'm kind of fearful of that. My mom went to the store to get me epson salt and some aloe vera. I hope I can walk soon. The nurse said they were 2nd degree burns.
Okay yeah, mine were more bloody and red raw than yours, but then again lots of my skin had been cooked off. A black blister is called a blood blister (or a black mans pinch if you are in the UK), basically its a what happens when a blood vessel bursts without breaking the top layer of skin. Soak in salt if you are worried but otherwise they usually go away on their own. The only time you should cut the blisters is when they will be wrapped in bandages, that's what happened with me and I was fucked up enough on morphine to not feel anything. The blisters will go away on their own, you can cut them open but there is just that risk of infection so if you are going to - wrap them straight away.
question why didn't you run on the grass?
Why is this thread in drugs discussion?
question why didn't you run on the grass?
My dog escaped through our back gates. Our back gate leads to an alley. The alley has a black rocky like asphalt and i was kicking it up everywhere. When I got out of the Alley, I had run across the street where the grass was and just sat there saying "WHAT THE FUCK DO I DO?" cause I couldn't walk and my dog was still running.. [editline]22nd July 2011[/editline]
Why is this thread in drugs discussion?
Cause I didn't want to post in the GD due to "blogpunch" so I didn't bother? I dunno.
why didn't you immediately get in the car with your dad after all, you probably would never outrun a dog.
why didn't you immediately get in the car with your dad after all, you probably would never outrun a dog.
That wasn't really running through my head. I see my dog run down the alley and my immediate reaction is to catch him, not to walk inside, get the keys, and than go after him. Had I not went after him, for all we know he could have gone the other way down the alley.
i see your point but once you're flops came off, did you still think you had any chance of recovering the dog? second, it sounds as if the dog was well past or near the end of the alleyway when your step dad had screamed so it begs the question why you think you can outrun a dog that has considerable distance on you? finally, upon running through the alley, did you look both ways before crossing the street or did you dart through?

I didn't think it would get that bad. I had a chance, but it was pointless to stop midway on hot ass asphalt. And the dog had just taken off when he screamed so I did have a chance. And I just ran across trying to figure out where my dog had went
eye for an eye, burn your dogs feat.
eye for an eye, burn your dogs feat.
Haha.. Everyone says that or to punch it.... Fuck that, I wouldn't do that...
When my family got this last cat, she was the exact same way to me. Except she was too fat and scared to run away. Now she makes sure I get home at night. That was some heartwarming shit, time for another bowl.
Haha.. Everyone says that or to punch it.... Fuck that, I wouldn't do that...
It wouldn't really achieve anything anyway, just make the dog loathe you.
Damn man that sucks. Sorry, but I know how it feels to chase my dog 1/2 a mile too. I've been burnt many times from dirtbikes, and yeah burns suck.
It wouldn't really achieve anything anyway, just make the dog loathe you.
Exactly, it'd be like me punishing him for my actions.
