WYNNEWOOD, Oklahoma - An employee at the G.W. Exotic Animal Park in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, was injured when she was attacked by a tiger at the park Saturday morning.
According to the Garvin County Sheriff's Office, a female employee was mauled by an adult tiger and has been air-lifted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Deputies believe she lost her arm. But she is said to be in stable condition.
Garvin County Undersheriff said "this is a rare incident for the park."
The owner of the park said the employee violated safety protocol by placing her arm inside the tiger cage. He said the tiger will not be put down.
Authorities have not identified the employee at this time.

New update from the hospital, at this point she is out of surgery and they saved her arm, she has a long road of repairs ahead of her but this is a miracle and thanks for the prayers everyone.
She's bloody lucky.
Well what did she expect?

Good.
Seriously, what the fuck do you have to be thinking to stick your arm into a cage with a wild animal.
fucking idiot
I've always wondered this, is it possible to reattach a limb after completely severing it, and have it still work?

Yes but it depends on how the arm was severed.
What a fucking shocker! Did she seriously think that would be a good idea?
Glad the tiger didn't get put down for her stupidity.
I think she just got disarmed.

Sometimes. Pretty often, if it's still connected by cartilage and the nerves haven't been severed, it's possible.
Put the lady down instead!!!

Yeah... Maybe thank the doctors and surgeons too.
Maybe she wanted her arm to be bit off.
Maybe she just thought, yup, today is a good day to feed a tiger.
You guys are jumping to conclusions, the article doesn't say why she put her arm in the cage. Granted, no reason is a good idea but she might not have done it just for a giggle.

what did someone put a gun to her head and say "hey stick your arm in the tiger cage"
She was probably expecting to get some frosted flakes.
Seriously though, she's lucky to be alive.
I think it's just GRRRRRRRRRRRREAT! that they managed to save her arm.
Gasp! How terrible!
That poor tiger had to taste all that stupid.
I hope they washed the poor thing's mouth out afterwards.
Not the sharpest tool in the shed.
Natural selection.
She was wearing a large goose down jacket which got bunched up inside the cage wire not allowing her to get her hand back outside the cage wire fast enough
She was stuck. At least she's not a COMPLETE idiot.

She probably saw those videos of people interacting with tigers and thought just anyone could do it. Still an idiot though.
Finish the woman off for being this stupid I say my friends. I would never stick my hand in a tigers cage. You could get badly hurt in doing so.
God made us to rule over these animals so be it.

Even if the nerves had been severed, reattachment can be done with full functionality, provided that the tissue in said severed limb hasn't started to rot from no blood. Of course it takes a hellish amount of time to regain use of your hands or something, and they'll never be perfect, but you'll be able to use them. Modern medicine is incredible really, 50 years ago reattaching limbs without all loss of control was pretty much unheard of, now we do it all of the time.
tigers this days you give them a hand and they want the whole arm
cause and effect in action
Why can´t we just leave the damn animals alone? Maybe instead of putting them in prison and torturing them, we could do something GOOD for them eh? Too much to ask right? Because that makes no money.....

Long story short my big toe got cleanly severed and was able to be reattached with little problem.

It's possible, I don't know what makes you think it wouldn't be. But it takes years of therapy and recovering in regard to the severity of the incident.
