Epic content ahead:

Excellent pictures, I can really see how you tried to make the barf hyper realistic.
I think everyone goes filter-apeshit when they get their first copy of PS, which is okay sometimes for making random textures for part of a future composition, or a trippy desktop.
If you want to get better, try forgetting that filters exist and get familiar with the other tools at your disposal. In particular, I recommend familiarizing yourself with Curves, Levels, Pen Tool (The Pen tool is the unofficial god of graphic design), masking, and layer blending.
Also, typography, typography, typography. You're off to a good start on some of those.
First rule I always like to tell people about Graphical Design even though I'm a novice myself: Never save as jpeg.
Sometimes you save as a JPEG to make your image shitty on purpose.
Like if you are doing a really bad shoop and you want to hide the edges.
Also JPEG works everywhere.
Protips:
Use the polygon Lasso
Save as .Png
Filter rape isn't cool
The gradient tool isn't a 'background' tool.
The Magic Eraser can and should be used, but what you are erasing should be 'cleaned up' afterwords.
USE ANTI-ALIASING
and finally, the golden rule:
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
