That's why I wanted to share this story, it could be the start of something bigger. However, currently, the protests have being limited to the Rif region of Morocco which has always being the periphery as investments go to the economically stronger regions. The only thing they really produce in the Rif is hashish. It should also be noted that many of the people in the Rif are proud of their Berber ancestery while the ruling elite are more Arabian.

Also, it's worth noting that many of the Moroccans who moved to Europe are from the Rif because there is so few jobs there.
