The time has finally come: the twelfth Doctor will be revealed this Sunday in a special one-off live show on BBC1. The half hour show, which will air at 7pm, is to be hosted be Zoe Ball who will unveil Matt Smith’s replacement in an interview in front of a live studio audience
The announcement, which has been long-awaited by fans, will also be backed up by special guests including old Doctors, companions and celebrity fans, who will speculate and recall their favourite Time Lords from across the show’s 50 year history.
Can't help but feel all this hype is a little forced, but then again I don't watch the show.
Sunday can't come soon enough

If only.
I thought we'd wait until the 50th anniversary episode to find this out, I don't see why they have to rush it out now
Am I the only one who thinks this is really fucking stupid?
Why is this at all necessary when people can just watch the episode and get all the hype and associated drama from that. This just seems like an excuse to build a shitload of pointless hype.
I'm not into Doctor Who but I'd watch it if it was Richard Ayoade.

I'd watch it.
new doctor is tony blair

He screwed with time proactively, we don't need him screwing with it retroactively too.
I remember a few weeks ago, friends on Facebook wanted it to be 'Miranda'.
Nothing would ruin the show more.
I hope it won't be Benedict Cumberbatch.. But I have a feeling it will be him.
He's a good actor and all, but I just can't and kinda don't wanna imagine him as the doctor.

I heard he said no to the offer or something

It's either going to be him so that they can pander to the fans easily, or it's going to be some really old guy which will piss off the fans because then they don't have some strapping young doctor to write fan fiction about.
He said he doesn't want to be on kid's lunchboxes.
its will be Clarkson
This excites me greatly.

This makes me more pumped for finding out who the next doctor will be! I honestly thought he would be a sure thing.

They've always done it this way as far as I know. It builds hype and gives people something to look forward to.
The new series doesn't have enough cheap cardboard sets with shit glued to other shit and awful video and lens flare effects.
I will forever remember the helmets that let you breathe but had no visors and a tube that didn't do anything.
Television shows that are reborn as high budget hits seem to lose a lot of the glamor that let you finish filming an episode in a week or two and only spend $500.
Obviously James May.
Clarkson will be the blonde.
It will probably be Rupert Grint.
I'm voting Bill Cosby.
Get in the Bipity Bopity Wibbily wobbily
Only Doctor Who can pull off live Sci-Fi. It's so classically hammy fun that nobody would notice. It's timeless if you pardon the pun.

That would be a dream come true.
Its Garry Newman

It's going to be Gabe Newell. By taking control of the TARDIS he can avoid the future to allow limitless development time for Episode 3.
