The news was announced by the county’s health department, after mosquitoes collected from a surveillance trap tested positive for the zoonotic arbovirus. Thus far, there have been no reports in Indiana of any humans infected with the disease. The West Nile virus is transmitted through infected, female mosquitoes. These arthropods are vectors of the virus and pass on the disease to humans when taking blood meals. In the United States, Culex pipiens, Culex tarsalis and Culex Quinquefasciatus mosquito species are all sources of the virus. Reservoirs of West Nile virus are found in both birds and mosquitoes, populations of which transfer the virus between one another. In a small proportion of cases, humans can become infected via other means. Blood transfusions, organ transplants and laboratory exposure can result in the virus being transmitted. A small number of cases have been reported where infected mothers transfer the virus to their babies during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
http://www.viralglobalnews.com/health/west-nile-virus-surfaces-indianas-marion-country/13639/
We've had West Nile infected ones here for a while, bug spray and spiders take care of it pretty well. Plus modern medicine. I guess the super fucking cold winter helps a lot as well, it was declared a non-issue by the end of the first summer.
Yeah, speaking from experience when winter comes around literally every type of bug dies/goes to warmer areas.
nature's really trying to kill us. uncurable diseases, poisoned water, heat waves.
nature's really trying to kill us. uncurable diseases, poisoned water, heat waves.
It might be because oh I don't know, we're killing it first?
It might be because oh I don't know, we're killing it first?
how do you kill nature exactly?

I live in an area that's got this and my friends and I have gotten the shit bit out of us, but we've seen no signs of infection. The people who've died are either really young or old so we end up not worrying. In Dallas it's usually the rich neighborhoods and suburbs that get sprayed.
is that plan to genocide all mosquitoes still going to happen
Ebola Virus, West Nile Virus, what's next, killer fungus?
I figured that West Nile was pretty common, here in Massachusetts they are always spraying chemicals because of it and EEE and it gets brought up every fall on the news.
I have a friend who got west nile. It affected his central nervous system and nearly crippled his legs. He can still walk but doesn't have a lot of strength in them any more.
