So, there are so many great guitarists out there, and many of them do not get their rightful admiration. So, today I honor Trey Anastasio from Phish. Please, let us honor some of our "Lesser" guitar gods in hopes that in the eyes of the masses, they recieve the titles they deserve.
Chuck Schuldiner from Death.

Steve Howe from Yes...
Agreed. How about Martin Barre? Props to the first person who knows what band he is from(Without googleing it or searching wiki)

Jethro Tull, right?
I wouldn't say Howe is underrated, he is just not as well known as e.g. Jimmy Page or who ever. I find Brian May of Queen very much underrated, he is great. Same for Steve Hackett from (early) Genesis.
Yes sir, but you would be amazed as to how many people do not know who he is. I wish I could give you a gold star, but alas I can not. Once again, some very great guitarists.
I find that Jerry Garcia is pretty unappreciated. He was a great blues/jazz guitarist and his improvisational technique was amazing. I know a lot of people are gonna say,"What?! Jerry isn't underrated!", but I always found him to be as I grew up.

I agree. I never hear people saying how good he was.
And Jethro Tull expanded my mind's horizons for the better. They have a sick live concert. Barre, even though he's pretty old now, still jammed like a beast.

Tom Morello

Stanley Jordan.

And yet nobody appreciates his guitar style. Well-Known != Overrated.
Rivers Cuomo. Nobody cares about his awesome solos :\
Jesper Stromblad. First person to figure out what band that is wins a cookie.
