Holy fuck that's cheap. It's only been out for a few months... [editline]01:20PM[/editline] steam always makes me regret buying things full price. every time. [editline]01:22PM[/editline] also didn't see the other earlier thread

Very good RTS game, I highly reccomend. Ignore most of the naysayers, they are generally people who only played the demo and based their entire opinion from it. I played FA to death and really liked that game despite it's major flaws, and I played SupCom2 to death and really liked it despite it's flaws. Two different games, that both play similarly and are good in their own ways. Don't go in expecting a direct port of SupCom1 and you will enjoy it.
I'll probably get it. Never played the first so I probably won't notice it's "dumbed down"

It lost its magic for some reason. Note that I didn't really enjoy SupCom1 like the hardcore fans (too much micromanagement), but this one seemed a bit... dull. I especially hate the nukes because you have to either keep building expensive anti-nukes or go nuclear yourself and dumb it down to "Who can throw warheads to eachother the fastest".
Yeah nukes are pretty much broken in SupCom2, but I don't mind too much because they are easy to turn off (most players online do anyways, and ranked matches are too small for anyone to bother with nukes).

You could turn them off? I play Skirmish only but I never knew they could be turned off! Can you also turn off Stationary arties as well?
When you select the map etc., in the bottom right corner, there is an "exclusions" button. From there you can disable various stuff, including units, structures, research and nukes.
Sadly no :( The exclusions menu for SupCom1 was really thorough, in supcom2 the only worth while things to exclude are the obvious (like land, air, sea), slow research (no research stations), and no nukes. [editline]05:50PM[/editline] Arty did just get a nerf though this latest patch, they now have a minimum range of 150 (which is a little bit more than 3 PD's worth I think).
