Getting mad fallout/stalker vibes from the now photos.
Looks like battlefield 4.
It's odd, even the grass looks dead and old in the newer photos.
Looks like battlefield 4.
What, an expensive, broken mess?
What, an expensive, broken mess?
which the airport essentially is now, yes
It says "Donbass People's Republic" in the article. Isn't it Donetsk? Donbass Battalion is the pro-Ukrainian militia.
It's odd, even the grass looks dead and old in the newer photos.
decorative grass like this found in parks airports etc usually go to shit if not maintained by gardeners
I know how they can recoup their losses! Paintball arena!
It says "Donbass People's Republic" in the article. Isn't it Donetsk? Donbass Battalion is the pro-Ukrainian militia.
The guys in the picture are Ukrainian army. Paratroopers
who are the guys in the movie? they say things like glory to novorossia so I guess they're pro-russian
The guys in the picture are Ukrainian army. Paratroopers
Wait does that mean they recaptured it?
Why did Ukraine spend 8.9 billion euros on an airport though? I'm not an airport expert, but that seems pretty excessive for such a relatively poor country.
Why did Ukraine spend 8.9 billion euros on an airport though? I'm not an airport expert, but that seems pretty excessive for such a relatively poor country.
I'm surprised you're surprised about overpriced projects in Eastern Europe.
Why did Ukraine spend 8.9 billion euros on an airport though? My local international airport, (IND) was just renovated at a cost of $1.2b for a new terminal, and some runway work.
You can thank Russia for that mess.
Ukraine spent an estimated $14.5bn (£8.9bn) in preparation for the 2012 tournament which it co-hosted with Poland - building two new stadiums and four new airports.
The whole airport didn't have all that money put into it, just a portion to renovate it. It has existed for decades and I'm sure it has had a good bit of money put into it, but I just wanted to point out the title was a bit off.
You can thank Russia for that mess.
Here we go again.
Here we go again.
Is that not the case?
That is crazy expensive for any airport. The construction process must have been outlandishly corrupt or something.
thanks putin [editline]13th October 2014[/editline]
Here we go again.
here we go again
You know guys, humanity might be fucked. Look at all this fucking effort and value left to rot because we still have to play this fucking warring states shit 100+ years later.
You know guys, humanity might be fucked. Look at all this fucking effort and value left to rot because we still have to play this fucking warring states shit 100+ years later.
Warring states shit never stopped, it's not like there are any reasons for it to stop.
You can thank Russia for that mess.
Well, going deeper, you can thank Yanukovich. It's his inability to decide, who he want to ally with led to all this mess.
Warring states shit never stopped, it's not like there are any reasons for it to stop.
What? We have all the reason in the fucking world to stop, One half-significant cosmic happenstance and humanity and all its accomplishments so far will amount to a slight amount of background radiation and a couple of fluttering radio signals bouncing around the solar system. Imagine all the crazy shit we could get done if all our efforts was turned to improving our environment and expanding our frontiers?

Individuals that are able to overcome the inner beast in themselves are rare, and always ignored, if not worse.

Imagine all the crazy shit we could get done if all our efforts was turned to improving our environment and expanding our frontiers?
No, that's the educated white world seems to have all the reason. Now take a look at Ukraine. The conflict of two "nations" in it has been around for a long time (hence why even Tom Clancy predicted an eventual Ukrainian crisis along with many other writers). West vs East, easy as that. Seems to be pointless to hate someone, blame your problems on someone and keep fueling a conflict that will eventually lead to a civil war sooner or later. But people did it despite how destructive it is by definition. Because there are deep grounds for the conflict and a whole generation was raised in hate towards the other side. The main part - its profitable. Eventually a good moment appears and someone manages to ride the wave of hate to get to power. This time it's Poroshenko and oligarchs that overthrown previous oligarchs using ideas of democracy and freedom and hate towards Russia. This is why such conflicts will always exist - they are earning a lot of people a lot of money. And if you take a look at the world it all is always burning with such small conflicts. Afghanistan: natives vs islamists. Turkey: islamists vs nationalists. Israel vs Palestine. Hell, the whole Africa and the Middle East are burning due to small ethnical conflicts exploited for profit. It's not that simple, we just can't forget about wars as long as someone somewhere is unhappy. And there is always someone unhappy ready to fight for his happiness.
Yet theres hardly ever anyone unhappy ready to unite, build and learn to fight for his happiness. I knew much of that already but i think ill be doing the future a disservice if i bow my head to a shortcoming instead of pushing against it.
Well, going deeper, you can thank Yanukovich. It's his inability to decide, who he want to ally with led to all this mess.
Going deeper you can thank Marx for writing "Capital" and kickstrating communism, which eventually lead to USSR, which lead to Ukraine and Russia becoming separate and what they are. In other news "you can thank x" is a stupid statement, there is a million factors involved.
