My service in the Estonian Defence Forces RecceCoy

I just finished my 11 month service in the defence forces (conscription), got the rank of junior sergeant. I'm a squad leader/signals NCO/occasional platoon leader in the reconnaissance company.
Carried at least one gopro almost everywhere, shot some stuff on my 5DII. This is a short summary of what we did

Mmhmm, I love me some good GoPro filming
That was a fucking awesome video. Bit different to a lot of the stuff you usually see of military videos.
i find it amazing how you were able to carry a camera with you on manoeuvres and exercises etc.
Made me miss my service in the Finnish defence forces.
That is a lot better videos than our crappy FDF PR conscripts did here.
Seems like you got to do a lot more cool infantry stuff than i did :v:
One thing I regret was never taking many pictures or video while I was in. :(
Wonder if I should get a gopro too. Medical coming up this fall :v:
very nice how do i say ur name tho is it like jaynus/jaynoos sorry
yaa-noose
estonian camo is cool
how hard was it to get permission to film
not enough lens flare, no trick shots, no dubstep - 4/10

were things more intensive because of the russia situation?
Another victory in the war on trees

I got 2 more years before I do mine, going for land forces.
A Finnish sub in my school went to the navy and apart from training, all he did was sit on an island for 2 weeks with 40 other guys and providing ''overwatch''.
All they did was play on an Xbox, play poker and drink.

I finished in june but you could definitely feel things tensing up
Man G3s are so goddamn cool
Very cool video almost makes me want to join the army almost.
Did they teach you to edit or is that just gopro magic?

When we had a training with live rounds a tree actually once fell because it was shot to shit. The tree wasn't so big but I reckon it was 20-30 cm in diameter. But it's not that odd that it fell because I think the track we were training on has been used for several years.
That's really badass Jannus! It looks like a hell of an experience; and a good chance for awesome photography. How long is conscription in Estonia? Once you're done with your training do you essentially become a reservist that gets called to duty in the event things heat up with Russia, or are you done with service?
I liked the golden eye tidbit. I also am jealous, I'd love to experience what you did. I don't think I'd like to go to war, but the whole brothers at your side, training, learning, exercising.. I would love it. Thought about trying to get into the Canadian Forces for awhile, but I always figured I wasn't smart enough. My Math skills are rough.
Cool insight to your training. Lucky you got to film all that as I'm sure the British Army would be strict about it.
PS: You still owe me a tenner ye bastard!
