I could've posted this in the Female Vocalists thread, but I suppose this deserves its own thread since it's female-only bands we're talking about, and not single vocalists. :v: The Runaways The Runaways were an American rock band that performed for 4 years (1975-1979). They released four studio albums - The Runaways, Queens of Noise, Waitin' for the Night and And Now... The Runaways - and a live album Live in Japan. There's also Flaming Schoolgirls which is an outtakes compilation and Little Lost Girls which is the U.S. version of And Now... The Runaways. Their overall members were: Cherie Currie on Vocals & keyboards. Joan Jett on Rhythm guitar & vocals. Sandy West on Drums, percussion, triangle & vocals. Micki Steele, Peggy Foster, Jackie Fox, Joan Jett, Victory Tischler-Blue and Laurie McAllister on Bass Guitar. Lita Ford on Lead guitar. The Runaways) Girlschool Girlschool are a British heavy metal band who are part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal scene and are frequently associated with Motorhead. Since 1978, they are still active for over 30 years and are the longest running all-female rock band. They released eleven studio albums - Demolition, Hit And Run, Screaming Blue Murder, Play Dirty, Running Wild, Nightmare at Maple Cross, Take a Bite, Girlschool, 21st Anniversary: Not That Innocent, Believe and Legacy. Their current members are: Kim McAuliffe on rhythm guitar, lead and backing vocals. Enid Williams on bass, lead and backing vocals. Denise Dufort on drums and backing vocals. Jackie Chambers on lead guitar and backing vocals. Their former members were: Kelly Johnson on lead guitar, lead and backing vocals. Ghislaine 'Gil' Weston on bass and backing vocals. Cris Bonacci on lead guitar and backing vocals. Jackie Bodimead on lead vocals and keyboards. Tracey Lamb on bass and backing vocals. Jackie Carrera on bass and backing vocals. They released six studio albums - L7, Smell the Magic, Bricks Are Heavy, Hungry for Stink, The Beauty Process: Triple Platinum and Slap-Happy. Their members were: Donita Sparks on guitar and vocals, their founding member. Suzi Garder on guitar and vocals, also their founding member. Janis Tanaka on bass. Demetra Plakas on drums and vocals. Jennifer Finch on bass and vocals (1987-1996). Gail Greenwood on bass and vocals (1996-1999). Roy Koutsky on drums (1987-1988). Here's something awesome about them: [release]During their performance at the 1992 English Reading Festival, the band experienced "technical difficulties with their audio equipment" and were forced to stall their set. Quickly, the rowdy crowd grew restless and began throwing mud onto the stage. In protest, lead vocalist Donita Sparks removed her tampon on-stage and threw it into the crowd yelling "Eat my used tampon, fuckers!". Sparks has remained unapologetic about the incident. This has been referred to as one of the "most unsanitary pieces of rock memorabilia in history".[/release] v:v:v Songs: Cat o' Nine Tails (album: L7) Wargasm (album: Bricks Are Heavy) Non-Existent Patricia (album: The Beauty Process) Feel free to post more if you know any, I'd like to know what you've got! :buddy:

Sahara Hotnights! Swedish, four-woman rock band. Earlier stuff was garage-ish rock, they've got a new album coming VERY soon (maybe it's already out, not sure).

Tiger Trap! cutest band I've ever heard. they only had one album, but the singer Rose Melberg is in some other bands (dunno if they're all girl or not) called Gaze, The Softies, and Go Sailor. She's kinda like a quintessential indie chick. another one I like is The Dolly Mixture if you get tired of all the twee there's Sleater Kinney

Shonen Knife is some great Japanese grunge. Vivian Girls is nice lo-fi indie rock. Nisennenmondai is Japanese noise rock, kinda boring though. Goddess In The Morning is Japanese dream-folk that is really pretty.
Cherri Bomb is decent. Hard rock/rock, nothing spectacular really, but decent stuff.
