He does bring up some good points on how Gaming as a business is now dealt with.
modern rating systems are dumb
the way that people view metacritic as something that determines actual important things, like paychecks and shit is disgraceful
if i had it my way there would be no scoring systems right up front, they'd be small at the bottom of articles and shit so that the opinion came before the number.
I wish more game reviewing sites adopted the A to F grading system, in the US the way our grading system works is that a 7/10 is considered a C and anything below a 6/10 is considered an F, but the fact that in actuality on numbers ranging from 1 to 10, 5 is the average and you have sites that treat 7/10 as an average score and sites that threat 5/10 as an average score, so everyone is confused on whether or not a game that got a 6/10 was either above average or below average in scoring.
if more sites just adopted the A-F system then we wouldn't have this huge disparity in scores, although for it to actually work sites like IGN need to stop giving literally every AAA game an B+ or higher.
more reviews should have a "second thoughts" section where the reviewer updates their reviews after like a few weeks or a month to see if the game's score was due to pure hype or if it could actually hold up and shit
