In what seems to be a neverending nightmare it appears that the website of Sony BMG in Greece has been hacked and information dumped.
An anonymous poster has uploaded a user database to pastebin.com, including the usernames, real names and email addresses of users registered on SonyMusic.gr.
The data posted appears to be incomplete as it claims to include passwords, telephone numbers and other data that is either missing or bogus.

What comes around, goes around etc.
More fucking hacks?
This is getting fucking annoying AND old now.

How is it getting annoying? Its hilarious to watch a massive company get hacked over and over again. Sony really is one of the companies that I expected to have a secure network for some reason.

But this has nothing to do with PSN.

Yes of course, getting my personal data stolen is not in the slightest bit annoying. It's not funny either when you realize that the people that get harmed in this isn't really the big executives making all the terrible decisions but the hardworking family man just trying to bring home money to feed the kids.
Yes, hilarious.
Wow. Just....wow. Really Sony? The creators of the PS3, and the ones that practically made Bluray popular, cannot make a secure network? Does all the work go into the idea department on how black their next creation should be colored?
I'm starting to feel bad for Sony now.
I'm not, Sony deserves what they're getting, but I wish the hackers wouldn't fuck over sony's customers like this. I had an Active SOE account and it's causing me alot of trouble because of the leak.

Purely the fact that it is a large company getting hacked is hilarious, the data being out there is of course not (although it really is not the first and nor is it the last time this has happened).
Also, surely people are angry at having their data out there, annoyed is completely the wrong word / emotion.

If that is all you can think of Sony having done you should do some reading.
great, can they hit activision next?

Sony DESERVES this?
Many people COULD be put out of work. Its not funny that people work there to bring money home to pay the bills.

I think the posting of user details is done as proof.
Its not really needed IMO, if people want to make a point and show that Sony have the least secure network on the internet then they should but they should leave private information alone.

If anyone (directly) loses their job over this they quite frankly deserve it, people are hired to prevent this sort of thing. The fact is that someone (or an entire department) has completely failed to do their job.
Of course if people lose their job indirectly (like from Sony taking a plunge and having to lay off staff) then they should have sympathy.

I'm not saying the people that work for sony have done wrong and deserve to loose their jobs, I'm saying the company deserves it for what they tried to do to Geohot. I don't think many people are going too loose their jobs over this, other then the people who work the online security for the company.
Sony should do what they did with Dark Alex a few years ago and hire the hackers, because they are apparently more competent than their current employees.

Valve did that, and then when the guy showed up they arrested him

They do deserve the hacking. But not a MAJOR one. I agree with you on the Geohot thing.
Valve did that, and then when the guy showed up they arrested him
Wasn't that planned from the start and the German(?) police arrested the guy before he bordered the plane as the FBI had some doubts about the legality of doing so.
Or maybe I have mixed up two related events.

eventually lead to all of this. :v:

One massive security gaff after another.

they deserve it, but leaking their customers information and using it for phishing is a total ass hole move and is totally unnecessary

I AGREE. Its sad people LAUGH at that.

I rather have no one know my personal information even if they don't use it.
Sony got hacked again? This is becoming an every day thing.

it's not big fat man with a cigar being carried around by hundreds of slaves being hurt. it's people like me and you.
OP is a sick fuck

I don't see how anyone is getting hurt (yet), apart from this time no personal information has ended up on the internet. As I have said in this thread already, the fact that Sony is getting hacked is hilarious, the fact that personal information is being stolen is not.

Fair enough, that is your opinion.
Although perhaps you should read my other posts in this thread in which I clarified what I find hilarious about this.
All the employees are.
Till I hear of people actually being fired I will stick to the belief that they are not getting hurt.

People have reported they have lost money.
AND our PERSONAL INFORMATION is out in the open.

Pretty sure that turned out to be a massive coincidence. As for the personal information, really so what. The only personal thing that they have gained (from what I understand) is credit card numbers which with one phone call to your bank / credit card company it is sorted. Pretty much all of the other information they have apparently gathered is out in the open.
Apart from passwords of course, but I am assuming (hoping?) that they are encrypted in one way or another.

I really cannot fathom how you managed to come to that conclusion, I do care about what is going on from a technical / security point of view.
