Add “May the Ferb be with you” to the list of relevant “Star Wars” puns, as Disney announced a crossover between the famed movie franchise and their popular cartoon, “Phineas and Ferb.”
Show creators and “Star Wars” fans Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh made the announcement today at San Diego’s Comic Con. The hour-long special episode will place the wacky main characters of the kids show in the same timeline and place as “Star Wars.”
So, does Facepunch hate Phineas and Ferb, or is this just more "Disney cannot do something good with this IP" bandwagoning? Because from the sound of it, this could be pretty funny, and Phineas and Ferb is usually pretty entertaining.

both
Why are you guys getting so worked up about this? There've been dozens of crossovers already even before the Disney acquisition, probably much worse than this.
They had one job.

Just because its been done before doesnt make it any less dumb.

Did they even need the IP for this? Wouldn't this fall under parody anyways?

My brother is 27 and has a daughter and he likes to watch Phineas and Ferb. So apparently you don't have to be twelve to enjoy this show.
This has the potential to be good. Hopefully they won't screw it up.
I haven't seen Phineas and Ferb in a couple years, but when I watched it, it was a really clever and fun show. It's smartly written with a lot of good humor. I have no idea what it's like now if it's changed.
But regardless of what I think about P&F, this is stupid and Disney should feel stupid. This isn't the first time P&F has had a ridiculous crossover either. They're already doing something with the Avengers that looks ridiculous. I don't know, maybe it actually is funny, but I'm not fond of the idea at all.

Nah man, didn't you know the guys behind Family Guy own Star Wars?
If Family Guy can do it, I don't see why they can't have any fun doing it either.
It's not a bad cartoon show and after this, nobody will care. Usual overreaction by Facepunch.
Uh Phineas and Ferb is actually a good show, it's clear that almost no one in here has actually watched the show.

Thinking about it some more. It depends on how it's handled. Reading the article they're doing it Family Guy style, meaning it's not just a straight up crossover where the characters meet Luke and Vader. Instead the characters are playing the parts of the Star Wars characters. I thought it was the former to which I am vehemently opposed.
With the latter though, I can see them having a lot of fun with that. It'd hardly be the first time they've referenced Star Wars. I don't know though, I'm still very cautious about the idea.
I'm ok with this.
Doesn't harm anyone, its not like they can do worse than lucas, but, only assuming the new games are coming out and the 7th movie is good.

I have watched it and nothing in it was good enough to make me want to watch it more.

I watched it when I was younger and I thought it was shit.
The only thing that bothers me about Phineas and Ferb is PHINEAS HEAD SHAPE HOLY SHIT HE COULD JAB SOMEONE EYE OUT WITH THAT FACE HE'S GOTTA BE CAREFUL!
You could cut off his head and use it as a throwing star or some shit.
Star Wars is dead
I feel like the only person who doesn't give a shit. This won't affect current Star Wars movies or (probably) the future ones, and this isn't canon. Why would anyone care?

Neither of their anatomies make sense, Ferb is a tube with limbs and a nose.
I find it sad, because star wars is such a fucking fantastic universe, and it had so much potential for being a really deep and meaningful piece of popular culture.
But i dont think Lucas ever really took it seriously. Just look at shit like the dreaded star wars holiday special. It all started going bad after The empire strikes back, After that we started seeing shit like the ewoks. Wich didnt ruin the movie, but it marks the point where lucas started going down the path of not giving a fuck.
