I'd definitely like the server browser to be less terrible. (I pretty much stopped playing CS:GO when it went to full matchmaking) What would be best if they did decide to do a workshop maps pool would be to require the map to have a certain amount of upvotes before getting onto an official server. (this would weed out the utter trash ones) Another part of CS:GO's issue, is you can vote dust 2 again even after finishing a round on dust 2. This makes it so you can't get off dust 2.
We've been asking for the dust2-only DM map pool for ages, it will never happen.
Problem with playlists and in a smaller sense map votes, is that people leave if their voted for map doesn't get chosen, and for this example since most people vote for dust2 you either have dust2 or you're mostly fighting bots.
There was an incident last year on Gametracker where they banned a lot of CS 1.6 hosts for using fake player counts, I'd share the thread but it seems to have been deleted, as said in the video, I don't think the stats are entirely accurate. Also, it's kind of a shame that Valve hasn't done anything towards custom gamemodes, there's been a lot of potential over the lifespan of these games (TF2 included) and they haven't done anything to incorporate them.

I, as well as many others, would happily switch on and off all of the other maps.

What Valve wants is high quality balanced maps, and I don't think you can blame them for it.
I personally get bored of games that constantly shove "new features and modes" in my face. Server browser needs an upgrade for sure, but I like how CS is doing thus far. Of course it can always be better.

I can go for a hundred more hours in CS:GO, without having to play more Assault.
i may be the huge pleb here but I still think the CSS days were the best, you had tons of players willing to play casually on custom map servers and other fun shit like surf maps and gungame and zombie mode etc. Nowadays everyone is ~hardcore progamer~ about CS again, which I guess is what tons of people wanted the most in CSS. A thing I can't stand about CS in general though is how people are obsessed with playing Dust_2 and only dust_2. I got so bored of playing the same cycle of official maps over and over again.

More million dollar knife skins please

There was also this server hosted in Portugal that had 24/7 gungame with admins always in it. It was fucking dope because the maps were great and everyone was fun as fuck, from ragers to trollers to micspammers... Heck, there was even this one map with 2 huge towers that could be wrecked and taken down. I forget what map that was, it was both hostage and defuse aswell iirc. It was a bit too big, but it was great just because of the towers.

Why can't we have both a mix of the official maps as well as some FY maps?
We've been asking for the dust2-only DM map pool for ages, it will never happen.
yea I agree with so you would all go there because I am sick of that map.
I seriously want Valve to remove Mirage and Dust2 from the competitive map pool for at least two months. Yes, I know I can select maps with a filter, but I'd rather play a wide variety of maps with other players.

Also I find Mirage 20x more fun the Dust2. So there is that.

It won't go back into the pool until you turn it back on.
Just click it off the map choice and select all the ones you want to play. It won't go back into the pool until you turn it back on.
Then it takes forever to actually find a match to play in, assuming you even find one.
dust2 ruins Counter-Strike.

I tried Dota a few days ago, fucking hell, the support that game gets... Even the main menu is fucking beautiful, the effect when you find a game, etc. CS:GO is literally a pile of shit compare to Dota's menu and matchmaking mechanics. (Also, if someone abandons? Then the game is save to leave! In CS:GO? Though shit, deal with it and keep playing...)
Matchmaking is terrible, why does CSGO think it's L4D

Otherwise, tough shit.
The thing that ruins CS:GO is the amount of cheaters.
I do wonder, do item drops still affect custom maps in some way? As in, can you not earn them while playing on custom maps? Because I could see quite a few people sticking to the official servery solely because the item drops make it seem like a more efficient use of their playtime. I do think it's quite a shame that custom game modes haven't really taken off with CSGO, most of my CSS hours were spent trying out weird maps and game modes and the server browser also made it possible to find a standard server where you get to know people a bit better than your random team mate from match making that doesn't care too much about being a dick to people he probably won't ever meet again after that match. In general I've been getting the impression that Valve's been dialing down on mods and similar community-created content unless it goes through much more regulated pipelines like the Workshop. Idk, I always used to associate a lot of added user content with Valve games, but with the last couple of them I kinda didn't see as much as I thought I would, aside from the skins produced for microtransactions.

May it be surf to jailbreak.
