Alright ladies? Are you basement-dwelling, sticky-fingered nerds up for going out and PAINTBALLING for a day? Damn right you are, so listen up. With the success of Camp Facepunch, it's made the occasional Facepunch meetups look a bit dull, because frankly most of the day is spent traveling and looking awkward on a video camera, BUT NOT THIS TIME! A few of us from camping have come up with the idea of actually DOING SOMETHING when we meet up, and what could be more appealing than blasting the guy who banned you or called you out with paintballs? Well probably a lot of things, but I digress. Metallics has a discount code for 'Delta Force Paintball' where we can get 300 paintballs free if we book 14 people. http://www.paintballgames.co.uk Prices Final Price will £7 each with 100 paintballs included if we get this booked before the end of August Extra Paintballs will be £5.99 per 100 if we buy in bulk (2000) or £6.99 for every 100 if we buy individually. I think the best idea will be for adults to all chip in for a large bulk of paintballs and divide them between us. Providing you're not too trigger happy, you can make even 100 paintballs last a few games. At the moment I'm looking at areas around London (sorry Northerners, but a few other northerners are already planning to come down to London anyway), and this place looks promising: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Delta+Force+Paintball,+Essex&sll=51.847239,-0.211452&sspn=0.643899,1.783905&ie=UTF8&hq=Delta+Force+Paintball,&hnear=Essex,+United+Kingdom&ll=51.609915,0.265732&spn=0.323648,0.891953&z=11&iwloc=B This Delta Force Paintball centre at Upminster (Essex) may be our best option as it's walking distance from Upminster Tube station (District Line) We're probably going to make a half-day of it and start at around midday. Everyone is welcome to come providing they can get to the paint balling site for midday. We'll most likely be meeting in London and then get the tube together. Also our travelling expert Bengley has this to say
Just a tip: those travelling from central london - don't use the district line. Go to London Fenchurch Street (5 minute walk from Tower Hill Circle and District line) and take a c2c train to either Shoeburyness, Stanford-le-hope, Grays or Southend Central and get off at Upminster. It only takes 25 minutes as opposed to the ~50 minutes on the Underground and it's the same price (London travelcard zones)

By car: Exit the M25 at Junction 29. Take the A127 (signposted Romford). After 1 mile leave the A127 on a slip road, following signs for Upminster and Cranham. After 100m the slip road ends at a T-junction with Hall Lane. Turn left (signposted Upminster and Cranham) and head straight on for 2½ miles passing straight over one mini-roundabout, Upminster tube station on your left, the A124 and all the shops in Upminster town centre. Turn right (signposted Rainham and Aveley) onto Harwood Hall Lane. After ½ mile turn left onto Aveley Road at the mini-roundabout. The Paintball Centre is 400 metres on the left. By tube and Mainline train: Upminster Station (District Line) is a 45-minute walk or short taxi away from the Paintball Centre. By taxi: Station Taxi: 01708 229 400 (approximately £10.00 to the centre). By bus: No bus service to the centre. Walk: Follow the map as per directions for cars. Beware: There is no footpath along Aveley Road.
Okay so I don't think we're getting any more people, 30 is a healthy number anyway. We will be meeting at the Burger King at Fenchurch Street Station. To get to Fenchurch Street Station, you have to walk from the nearby Tower Hill Tube Station, as shown on the map below. If you want proper tube directions to Tower Hill, go to http://www.tfl.gov.uk/ and type in the name of the station you're arriving from and Fenchurch Street in the second box. It will tell you to jump off at Tower Hill and walk from there to Fenchurch Street, which should take about 5 mins. Ideally we want everyone to be there at 10:15 so we can all get the 10:30 train. It's not the end of the world if we can't, but I'd like to leave a decent amount of time to get to the Paintballing site from Upminster Station. We can pitch in and get taxis or we can walk. The walk will take around 40 minutes, I don't mind walking at all if people want to spare some cash. Plan 10:15 Meet at Fenchurch Street Station 10:30 Get the c2c train to Shoeburyness and jump off at Upminster 11:00 Arrive at Upminster - This gives us an hour to get to the paintballing site. Option A: Walk to Paintballing Site, which will take around 40 minutes, which we won't be able to do if we don't make the 10:30 train. We will arrive at around 11:40 providing we don't get lost. Option B: Get taxis to ferry us to the Paintballing Site which will apparently cost around £10 per taxi, so we can all pitch in per taxi. Not sure how long it will take to get there, but we'd arrive earlier than we would by walking. Remember this isn't compulsory, if you feel that this would be out of the way of your journey, you are free to make your own way there, but I recommend those who are unfamiliar with traveling through London to travel with us. If you want to make your own way there, just make sure you are at the Paintballing site by 12 at the latest. We cannot wait for stragglers so we're leaving at 10:30 with whoever is there, so make sure you arrive on time. If you arrive late and we have already left, you are welcome to get the next train if you feel you can still arrive at the site by 12. It'll be nice to actually do something for once. [editline]03:53PM[/editline] Also, for those with distance problems, megabus is good and cheap for things like this. It's probably how I'll be travelling (from Sheffield)
Everything Facepunch does should be done around Haltwhistle
Haltwhistle is a small town and civil parish in Northumberland, England, situated 10 miles (16 km) east of Brampton, near Hadrian's Wall, and the villages of Plenmeller, Rowfoot and Melkridge. It has a population of 3,811.[1] Well constructed, stone-built houses are still a feature of central Haltwhistle, and though there are none outstanding architecturally the general appearance of the groups is harmonious. The houses were built of local stone, but with the railway, other materials could be brought in.[2] It is one of two settlements in Great Britain which claim to be the exact geographic centre of the island, along with Dunsop Bridge in Lancashire, located 71 miles (114 km) to the south.
The other place is including Ireland.
Hmm, this seems interesting... Not bad... Not bad... Not bad... LONDON?!
