Recently, I have been listening to music from other countries, and on languages I don't understand. Like "Du hast" or some Finnish band called Turmion Kätilöt.
I do really enjoy listening to this music but I got in a kind of situation the other day when my dad (who was born in Finland) hears some music by the previously named band and says "Do you understand what they are saying?". I didn't so I said no, and later looked up the lyrics. Apparently they cursed a lot in those songs.
This may not be very embarrassing, but have this happened to any of you?
Do you have a problem with not knowing the real lyrics or just enjoy the music?
Do you only listen to music on your own language or are you open minded?
I like some German songs like "Nur Ein Wort" and "99 Luftballons". I learned some German a long time ago and I can sing along to them, even if I don't know what I'm saying.
Enslaved sing in Norwegian (black/viking metal)
Eluveitie sing in a mix of English, Swiss and Gaulish. (celtic folk/melodeath)
Darkthrone released an album in Norwegian.(black metal, death metal, crust punk)
Burzum is in Norwegian also(ambient, atmospheric black metal)
I don't know what they say but the music itself is great
figured I'd put some songs:

Actually, Sigur Ros in general are fantastic, regardless of the language they're singing in
Sigur Ros are amazing.
lol at the dancin children
I just love the energy of that song, and the kids dancing just made it complete for me :3:
Russia, Japan, and South America have some really good metal bands. There is also alot of great music in German, but I sort of speak that language so I don't think it counts.
Like this here, so freakin good:
