Anyone keeping count of how many times this has happened to them since the show started?
This is really weird, I was kinda under the impression that Toei and Funimation were like totally on-board with them? I mean, multiple of the Team Four Star crew actors are in Dragon Ball Xenoverse, and there's been multiple little nods to DBZA in the Kai dub, including an alternate scene where they straight up appear alongside the regular Funimation cast.

iirc, Funimation doesn't mind, but Toei does.
which is kinda hilarious given how much they make fun of funimation

Thanks to the infinite knowledge bestowed upon me from the comment section, I seem to understand that Funimation loves TFS, but Toei doesn't.

The reason that scene was cut and replaced with the original voice recording was because Sabat wanted to sneak them into the dub, but at the last minute Toei caught wind of it and demanded they be cut out. Toei fucking hates the TFS crew and have been looking for any excuse to shut them down.
Yeah, Funimation loves them, Toei can't stand them. Its a weird love triangle.
Fuck Toei!

A love/hate triangle?
They're right. TFS is kinda big for me even though I'm something of a Johnny-come-lately. I watched Dragon Ball Z when I was little but never seriously followed it. After watching a bunch of the hilarious DBZA videos they inspired me to get back into it, partly to revisit my childhood and finally see the whole thing, and partially to get all the jokes in the videos.
So at least in my case, TFS is responsible for me being a DBZ fan. This is a raw deal.
Man, Japanese companies in general sure seem to have a hard time grasping the concept of internet
Shit man. I was putting off watching the latest episode.
The videos on their website are still up.
Weird that Toei does this considering they only care about Precure

Precure gets the budget, Dragon Ball gets the metric fuckton of licensing that makes oodles of money while they kick a zombie corpse on the ground.
