There has been evidence at least since 2011 of Russian missile tests in violation of the 1987 intermediate range nuclear forces (INF) treaty, which banned US or Russian ground-launched cruise missiles with a 500 to 5,500-mile (805 to 8,851km) range. But the Obama administration has been hesitant until now of accusing Moscow of a violation in the hope that it could persuade Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, to stop the tests or at least not deploy the weapon in question, known as the Iskander, or R-500.
Stahp it russia, stahp it.
snip, never mind then
FUCK and I even searched for that shit. Welp, my bad. Drown me in clocks to your hearts content.
Seems like both of you posted on the same minute. In my confusion I locked one of the threads so I'll let this one stay. edit: Yeah ticker said you posted first.
the treaties were bs anyways
Yep, definitely a new wrinkle. Hopefully it won't be a sunny day in the South Pacific like it was in the 50's.
the treaties were bs anyways
the treaties brought us back from brinksmanship and were steps taken by the USSR and the USA to roll back tactical and strategic nuclear weapons also the USSR probably signed them because by '87 they were way behind the west in terms of these types of weapons but that's not the point [editline]29th July 2014[/editline] this is one area where i do jump on the fuck obama bandwagon, he should have gone after russia for pulling out of the Strategic Arms Reduction treaty and now he's allowed putin to get away with breaking other nuclear treaties
Russia is like a steam engine of stupidity at this rate.
While I half agree we should of gone after Russia more; it's a rather dangerous place atm and being provocative towards a nation ready to go to war is not wise

Is this typical for intl relations? A nation calls out another nation for not following a treaty, so the second nation goes full apeshit kindergarten mode and tells them they don't agree to the treaty anymore? childish.
Fuck Russia.
I have been thinking about the sanctions of western governments on Russia and don't see why they don't do the one below. I think it is drastic, but as a last resort only thing that can show current Russian government that they can't disobey international laws.
The only way to squeeze the current government of Russia is to ban them, their family members from living in any country other than Russia, and freezing their bank accounts. Since Putin and other officials on top of the chain send their family members to live in Europe, North America, Oceania and keep tremendous amounts of money in international bank accounts, it isn't that hard to see that their plan is to steal as much money they can from the Russian government and when shit hits the fan move out and live in other countries. By taking out their escape plan, they will have to work as a real government or resign, so at least they can live peacefully in Russia.
is Russia hell-bent on taking the rest of the world down with it?
I think this is another way for them to push other nations around. "If we abandon this treaty, what are you gonna do about it?"

They can cut that off and seriously hurt Europe. That's why no 'serious' sanctions have gone through, because Europe's too connected to Russia now. And while it's true being cut off would also hurt Russia, they've shown in the past they're willing to hurt themselves to get back at someone else, in WW2 they burned their own fields and villages so Germany couldn't use them. Plus, their making more deals with China, China is quickly becoming their 'economic' escape plan.
China is really reliant on the US; if the US were to tell China to stop it'd hold soo much more weight
China is really reliant on the US; if the US were to tell China to stop it'd hold soo much more weight
Politics aren't that simple.
Politics aren't that simple.
Of course not but the ties between the US and China's economy are incredibly strong.
Linked because i don't want bannu http://s11.postimg.org/6vqjlz46r/1406591706492.png
Of course not but the ties between the US and China's economy are incredibly strong.
This is very true. China and Russia have never liked each other. And if it came down to cutting ties with Russia or the U.S., China wouldn't really hesitate to drop Russia. Its a functional, mutually beneficial relationship they have right now, but they much prefer what they get from the Western world and will work to keep that, whereas the deals with Russia pale in comparison.
Russia is like a steam engine of stupidity at this rate.
It's that one kid who rebelled against everything and now tells the teacher to go fuck herself and gives swirleys on the toilets together with North Korea.
I doubt the Kremlin would be a huge spastic and launch nukes but having more nukes in this world is a terrible thing Nobody wants a repeat of the Cuban Missile Crisis in Russia or America
So could John Titor the alleged time travel have been right? Could we be on the brink of nuclear war?
While I half agree we should of gone after Russia more; it's a rather dangerous place atm and being provocative towards a nation ready to go to war is not wise
why would the majority of Russia's nation be ready to go to war?
Cool, my southern neighbor might go back to cockfighting with the guy across the street.
Russia won't go all insane and randomly nuke us. I'm more worried about some smaller conflict eventually starting a nuclear war.
Hey, if nukes start flying, Florida is alright... Right?
