42% of Trump voters think it's appropriate for politicians to body slam
reporters, compared to 45% who think it's inappropriate. By contrast only 6% of
Clinton voters think it's appropriate to body slam reporters, to 89% who think it's
inappropriate. Overall 22% of voters think it's ok to body slam reporters, to 69%
who think it's not.
So much for free speech.

I mean he did encourage violence at one point
I mean he did encourage violence at one point
"Get him out of here, I'll cover your legal fees."
Paraphrasing but pretty much verbatim what he said at a campaign rally. If Trump could, he'd police the shit out of the media. He just wishes he was a third world dictator.
Not terribly surprising, the reaction on t_d to Gianfortes bodyslam was overwhelming support.
Huh, according to their poll Hispanic Trump supporters make up the bulk of support for bodyslamming. Guess he attracted all the luchadores.
I mean he did encourage violence at one point
Against agitators that assault them at rallies? What's wrong with advocating self defense?

Uh, wasn't that just a protestor? If we're talking about the same instance, pretty sure they weren't violent.
42% of Trump voters think it's appropriate for politicians to body slam
Absolute loonies these people are.

lol where the fuck did you get this idea
Remember when Hillary referred to half of his supporters as "deplorables?"
Looks like they only got up in arms because she was right.
I mean he did encourage violence at one point
One point?
"I'll beat the crap out of you."
"Part of the problem ... is nobody wants to hurt each other anymore."
"The audience hit back. That's what we need a little bit more of."
"In the good old days this doesn't happen because they used to treat them very, very rough."
"Try not to hurt him. If you do, I'll defend you in court, don't worry about it."
"I'd like to punch him in the face."
"Knock the crap out of them."
"Maybe he should have been roughed up."
"I don’t know if I’ll do the fighting myself or if other people will."
“Hillary wants to abolish — essentially abolish the Second Amendment. By the way, if she gets to pick, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know.”

Your daily reminder that they're just as much of a danger to us as Trump himself is.

The only stat it gives linking Hispanics and the body slamming is that 25% of them support it,

Nothing linking them making up the most of the support in the Trump base.
Honestly not surprising, after that body slamming incident occurred, when interviewed the Gianforte supporters just agreed with it cause of "fake news".

Sounds pretty bad when you strip the context out if it and condense it down to a minute and a half video
Sounds pretty bad when you strip the context out if it and condense it down to a minute and a half video
it sounds pretty terrible in context actually.
just a few posts ago you're saying violence is bad and the left is violent and then you literally hear verbatim things that trump said to incite violence contradicting himself, and you still can't be even slightly more understanding of where we're coming from in this discussion?
Sounds pretty bad when you strip the context out if it and condense it down to a minute and a half video
Dude, any candidate calling for violence against press is a fucking horrible thing to do. It COMPLETELY flies in the face of democracy. I literally cannot believe that you would try and say that it makes sense in context

That's a great video, very useful. Wish they'd update it to include the remarks he's made since then, especially his "Second Amendment people" comment against Clinton and the Supreme Court that earned him a talking to from the Secret Service.
Don't forget the great and mighty "You have to go after their families"
Also yes, I'd forgotten about him saying this concerning the families of terrorists.

Nah, it's pretty fucking straightforward lol.

What? This is about agitators, not press. None of his "calls for violence" involved members of the press.
i'd say advocating violence against journalists is worse than advocating for violence at protests
What? This is about agitators, not press. None of his "calls for violence" involved members of the press.
Firstly, calling for violence against agitators is JUST as bad
Secondly, are you actually going to deny that Trump fuelled violence against journalists? Seriously
i'd say advocating violence against journalists is worse than advocating for violence at protests
Both are still terrible

A kid bum rushes his stage, says he woulda punched him
A kid throws tomatoes at him, says he would like to punch him
Tells the crowd if you see anyone going to throw tomatoes to knock them the fuck out
Whats wrong with that

so now you need to be incredibly semantic in order to remain "correct"? That means you're not at all correct.

The president shouldn't be calling for violence against American citizens at all. I don't see why you're struggling to wrap your brain around the idea.

It is quite rude to punch people, especially if you're hiring security guards whose job it is to deal with potentially dangerous threats.
Let the guards do their job. It's really unbecoming to threaten personal violence as a rhetorical move. It's pointless posturing with the potential to inspire actual violence.
I'm just trying to imagine how hard you'd go after Clinton, Bernie, or Obama for uttering those some words Nesto.
You would. And you know you would.
But you cannot be honest about this with anyone including yourself it seems.

What, thats not semantics lol. Theres a massive difference between the press and political agitators. What are you on.

Literally everything, jesus christ. God I would hate to have an attitude like this in my life. What a fucking hateful, sad way to live.

yeah, you're a lost cause now
a government official should not be calling for vigilante justice.

Uhhhhh do you hear yourself? It's legitimately unsettling that people like you think that level of violent retaliation is not only acceptable but something to be encouraged and glorified.
Jesus Christ dude what the fuck
What, thats not semantics lol. Theres a massive difference between the press and political agitators. What are you on.
Yes, it is quite literally semantics. We're arguing that Trump is the source of violence against his opponents and the opponents of his supporters. You're saying that because he didn't specify journalists, that you cannot blame him for this. That is quite literally semantics, his advocacy for violence was widespread. His criticism of the media is abnormal. The fact that you cannot see, or won't see, the things you would virulently oppose from the "other side" as something you support now is just gross.
