what? time is not subjective; it is a real thing. It may feel like time is "flying" but that does not mean you are aging faster than everyone else.

This. And what you're talking about, Mr OP, is our perception of time. Not time itself.
Life may or may not be quantifiable depending on whether or not you bring metaphysics into the equation.
a second is a second no matter how long you perceive it to be
we can prove its existence with entropy and measure it accurately using light
what are you smoking
Things like carbon dating http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiocarbon_dating make measuring the passage of time a relatively objective thing.
Obviously that can't answer the more metaphysical question of why time exists and what might happen in the future
I thought time was relative and could differ from place to place?
I thought time was relative and could differ from place to place?
yes, but that does not make time subjective. Whether or not you feel like time is flying will not make you age slower or faster.
I thought time was relative and could differ from place to place?
The speed at which you go through time changes with your velocity and the intensity of the gravitational forces you're subjected to, in relation to an external observer. That is general relativity.
Yet, even though time flows differently for both parties, they'll perceive it the same way.
It's not a mere concept, it's just that most people forget that they are simple beings made to eat, survive, reproduce and die.
I don't really think there a "time" only constant progression.
I don't really think there a "time" only constant progression.
isn't that the same thing?
I don't really think there a "time" only constant progression.
And that constant progression can be measured heartbeat by heartbeat, or second by second, or minute by minute, or year by year and so on.
I thought time was relative and could differ from place to place?
It is precisely that fact that makes time a real thing, it's bound to our existence and changes depending on the energy present at a given location. It's that that makes time relative.
Forgive me if that sounded a bit mystical at moments, I was just lost for other ways to explain the point :v:

All things tend to chaos.
While it may indeed be a constant progression, it is one that can be quantified, the smallest using being plank time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plank_time
