[release]During a town hall in Texas on Wednesday, Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum told the crowd that President Obama’s agenda will lead to a new French Revolution that will be based on executing Christians by way of the guillotine. The comments may appeal to crowds in Texas and the religious right wing in general, but to the rest of the population, Santorum is using the rhetoric of fear which doesn’t usually go over too well. Emboldened by his victories in Colorado, Missouri, and Minnesota on Tuesdays night,Santorum made the outrageous comments in response to the decision made by the Ninth Circuit Court to strike down Proposition 8 as unconstitutional and the Obama Administration’s decision to require religiously affiliated organizations to offer contraceptives to women.
“When you look and see what the left is trying to do in America today, progressives are trying to shutter faith, privatize it, push it out of the public square, oppress people of faith, strip their charitable deductions away from them, trying to weaken them, churches — trying to say that anyone who believes in the value of Judeo-Christian principles.
As we saw in the Ninth Circuit just this week, that if you believe that [same sex marriage is wrong] — this is what the court said — that if believe that, if you believe what’s taught in Genesis, if you believe what’s practiced Biblically and a generation since then you are irrational. The only possible reason you could believe this, according to the Ninth Circuit, is that you are a bigot and that you are a hater.
They are taking faith and crushing it. Why? Why? When you marginalize faith in America, when you remove the pillar of God-given rights, then what’s left is the French Revolution. What’s left is the government that gives you right, what’s left are no unalienable rights, what’s left is a government that will tell you who you are, what you’ll do and when you’ll do it. What’s left in France became the guillotine. Ladies and gentlemen, we’re a long way from that, but if we do and follow the path of President Obama and his overt hostility to faith in America, then we are headed down that road.”
Here’s the part of the speech

Rick Santorum has a long history of making outrageous remarks. His focus on abortion and same-sex marriage has improbably propelled his campaign for the Republican nomination. He has led a vicious assault against Democrats and the Constitution by trying to legalize religiously based bigotry and hatred. Rick Santorum has publicly stated that he wants to legislate our private lives and wants to make laws based on church doctrine. Never mind that this violates the separation of Church and State and violates the religious freedom of non-Christians, Santorum’s goal to institute religious law across the land sounds like what Islamic extremists seek to do in Middle Eastern countries. In Iran, religious law is the law.
And despite what Santorum claims, the French Revolution was more about the fact that the French monarchy was living lavishly while allowing the people to starve and languish in poverty. Kinda like how the wealthy are treating the American people today, don’t you think? Maybe he has a point about the guillotine after all…[/release]

If Santorum had his way, it'd be everyone else going to the guillotine.
Is there anything this guy won't say for votes!?
Because christians are such a persecuted race in America.
No Rick, we don't want to. But you make us want to.

If there's one man I would want to see in the gulliotine it's Santorum himself because he's a massive fucking dumbass.
At least a mass Guillotine project would create jobs. :v:
Oh, Santorum you big ol' idiot.
Isn't obama a christian?
You know what? Never mind, I'm wasting my time even making an arguement aganist Santorum because the guy makes a big of a joke on himself as it is.

If you actually watch some interviews he did, he seems like a better christian then most christians.
The more I try to make of politics in the US, it makes my brain hurt.
Let them eat the frothy mix of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex! How about no?
.....I want to shove my size 14s so far up this man's ass.
Anyone got some soccer cleats I could borrow?
The GOP nomination just seems to now be about who can be more insane/full of bullshit.
Didn't Obama also openly admit he was christian? That kills Santorum's entire argument right there.
It's almost funny how little this man knows.
Almost.

He's from Kenya! Check his Birth Certificate! Jesus Christ Holy Savior Amen he isn't Christian!
"President Obama Wants To Guillotine Christians"
people like you make me want to, as well...
but then I realize a real Christian is a good person and a real christian shouldn't be associated with assholes like this one, no, a real Christian isn't an obsessive douche bag, or a fanatic, or a hypocrite, instead, they're just people, and that's all.
Santorum is not a real Christian, he doesn't speak for Christians, and he should not be voted for simply because of that. He is a fool and a liar.

Man, if anyone wants to vote for him after he said that shit, he probably already had their vote.

Denying rights based on sexual orientation or any similar category is bigotry, sorry buddy but that's pretty much a textbook definition, also it's Leviticus that says homosexuality is an abomination, not genesis.
Is there really no law for which him,his voters and people like him would be put into a mental hospital?
No?

you do realize it's possible that Obama isn't telling the truth about being Christian, don't you?
you do realize it's possible that Obama isn't telling the truth about being Christian, don't you?
Yeah, he's secretly a communist mooslim from Keny-Iran-istan.

Does it really matter? religion/personal matters should be out of politics anyway.

But if he's not a Christian than he obviously worships Satan, right???????????????
[editline]10th February 2012[/editline]
Personally I think Obama is at least an Agnostic simply because he's demonstrated on numerous occasions that he is in fact aware of the atrocities of the Bible.

Someone here got their head guillotined all right... but it was a metaphorical.
Oh hey thanks for getting Santorum all over my favorite Smashing Pumpkins song

Well, yes, Mr Santorum. Trying to force homosexuals to be second class citizens and not worthy of the great and noble right of marriage is bigotry.
In other news, more cry baby Christian persecution complex from Republican nominees. Who actually believes this shit?
Who actually believes this shit?
Apparently enough to actually put them in a position of power in this country.

It would lower unemployment that's for sure.
