Col. Steve Warren, spokesman for the U.S. military command in Baghdad, told reporters at the Pentagon that there had been an estimated 600 to 1,000 ISIS fighters inside Ramadi, which the extremist group captured in May. Despite this depletion of ISIS forces, U.S. officials are reluctant to predict how long it will take to reclaim the city, which is the capital of Anbar province and a key to the Iraqi government's hopes of restoring its borders.

Nothing of value was lost.
The explosives used had quite a lot of value.
Nothing of value was lost.
i feel bad for the bombs [editline]12th December 2015[/editline]
The explosives used had quite a lot of value.
dat ninja
The terrain was also a huge loss. That poor desert bed.
Nothing of value was lost.
Well, any civilians unfortunate enough to be nearby. Not to mention any buildings, infrastructure, personal property, etc destroyed in such explosions. All piled onto the fact that apparently despite this air campaign, they have no idea how difficult it will be to actually still liberate the city.
Alright centcom I believe you, just like how we knocked out "the #2 of ISIS/Al-Qaeda/The Taliban" for the umpteenth time.
They replace them when we kill them.
There have been a number of times that there has been "confirmed kills" via airstrike or drone of top ranking leaders, only for them to have a propaganda video come out weeks later confirming them to still be alive. Wasn't really a common happening, but it's something that would happen every once in a while over the course of the years.
They replace them when we kill them.
yep. large terrorist organizations have great upward mobility
The explosives used had quite a lot of value.
And we got our value out of it
The losses are going to have an effect soon. They can't keep replacing casualties forever, and the experienced, trained fighters are nearly irreplacable.
They replace them when we kill them.
Yeah, they can fill a spot with someone of lesser if not maybe equal potential but this is going to have an effect on them. They know they're fighting an enemy that can drop ordnance on them at liberty, completely uncontested.
