Hey, this is a short film opening that I have been working on for school coursework, check it out ;) (My first ever attempt at making a film)

Kindly use media tags, there is an Insert video thing for you to use when you make a post.
You used too much of that dark blue filter, your camera was unsettling, you're voices were unconvincing, the acting and writing were amateur and the auntie seemed Bi-Polar, the horror was like, so cheesy, and I don't want to be an asshole, but it was just downright shit
very nice at capturing the mood, the fight scene was hilarious though
It wasn't bad. The fighting killed the mood entirely and the end was a bit cheesy, but not too shabby.
Also the young girls acting wasn't amazing, always room for improvement.
Ugh don't put MUST SEE for one your own videos, what the hell.
It was pretty good, the theme came out at the start, but the fighting could have used some better choreography. Also, that blood splatter scene could have been a lot cleaner. The blood pretty much covered half of his face, and blocked his facial expression.
I thought the fighting killed it a bit, and the initial intro was terrible
However, I really liked the rest of the editing and the acting wasn't bad at all!
Those fonts...
Also, reminded me of an episode of Coronation Street.
A butterknife?
If this is high school work, or even first year college stuff, it's okay I guess. I don't know much about film making so I can only comment on the quality of the outcome and it was a bit cheesy.
It might sound stupid, but don't use too high FPS footage. It makes it look like a bad reality TV.
Cuts his leg in a downward motion, blood gets on his face.
~logic~
Couple-o-tips
The font choice sucks harry balls. Seriously. Just use a plain San-serif font
Render the video at 24FPS instead of 60. It will look better.
Use a better camera. It looks like it was shot with a camcorder.
Overtly dramatic at times, and the scenes where there should be a sense of tension or drama are ruined by bad stock sounds and audio mixing, and bad framing of shots.
The filters also make the whole thing kinda silly
And framing:
have more handheld shots, especially at the beginning. It looks really static, and the actors movements puts them out of the shot due to the camera being in one place constantly.

Also at times you make too many or too little camera cuts

lastly, "Sarah" doesn't need to give an oscar worthy performance, but for fucks sake her voice needs to break an octave and her face needs to show an emotion other than mild surprise. I'm sorry, but she needs to act better.
[sp]Ahaha stabbed with a butter knife[/sp]
it looks like an episode of corro with the high frame rates

someone bet me to it :v:
Guys I fully accept and appreciate your criticism/tips for my production.
Just remember that this was almost a zero budget school production, with average camcorders. In terms of the type of productions other people on my course are producing, I'm personally pretty pleased with how mine turned out considering the limited equipment, resources and time I was given.
Here is an example of the type of stuff my production is competing with: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvyTqZhS110&feature=my_favorites&list=FLMu4Kj0roX48XeEV0i6sknQ

As I was saying, this was a zero budget school production. We were given pretty cheap camcorders, I think the colours were somewhat saved by the heavy colour correction/grading that I did to it (the original colours produced by the camera were horrible). I also cropped the footage to 2.35:1 widescreen for a more cinematic effect and did ADR to fix up some of the dialogue from the built in microphone.
I'm not sure what you mean about it being 60 FPS, I rendered this video at 23.976 FPS.

Well my friend, I can say, your video is better then that one.
I enjoyed your video, should of been longer.
Sorry, but I didn't really like this at all. Felt like something I did in tv pro as a joke in highschool.

I think that's a bit of an exaggeration.

hahahaha wow, that makes yours look like a Kubrikian masterpiece.
You did well with what you had, but my biggest issues really were with how some of the shots were presented, and some hamminess.
But to be honest, it's still a good job, and I like that you actually bothered with post-production ADR, the dialog audio is pretty good, but you should really do something about the choice of stock sounds.
Good luck
My main criticism is that I think your shots cut around too often. Everything felt like it was going too fast because everything jumped around. If you designated 3 different angles for a scene, and show each angle for longer, things will seem more professional. Hopefully you understand what I mean, I'm not good at explaining.

Yeah it fucking sucked

Sounds to me like someone's pretty butt hurt. Please post some constructive criticism as to why you believe it sucked, that will help a lot. (By constructive criticism I don't mean nitpicking things that can't necessarily be avoided on a zero budget production.)
I thought it was pretty good compared to other videos I've seen posted here.
At times it felt like an episode of Eastenders, other times it felt a bit crude. BUT, it's obvious you put more effort and time into yours than the other one you posted, and I will say yours is probably the best.
Some shots seemed quick and ended to fast/started too soon (like scene skips and such) and it seemed like a cheesy movie BBC would produce for daytime television for pensioners.
But the actors tried and at least you put a bit of thought into it, you included a bit of backstory and drama. It kept me interested till the end. Plus there was a sword fight, can't go wrong with swords and medieval dressed people!
Compared to some girl saying "hey i thought you left for Australia" the 'cringyness' was enough to make me stop watching. I have no doubt yours will be the best.
Yer bad at opening effects Harry.

Lol, why? Constructive criticism please.
The very first effect in the video looks really bad, just sayin.
The text I mean.

The fonts chosen were really awful. I can't say why.. they just were. The logo also kind of looks like a title screen from some anime video game.

I used a very similar to font to what was used in Tim burtons Edward Scissorhands.

It's better to choose a font that matches your movie and tone
The imagery and hue in that movie were made complete with the sort of wacky font
