Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson: a run for president is a 'real possibility'
58 replies, posted
In an interview with GQ, Johnson -- the former champion wrestler and current movie star -- says he has "a tremendous amount of respect for the [political] process." But when both Hilary Clinton's and Donald Trump's campaigns reached out in 2016, he thought carefully because he feels he is "in a position now where my word carries a lot of weight."
...
When asked plainly about President Trump and how he's doing in his first 100-plus days, Johnson talked more about inclusion and acceptance, and how he would lead, instead of being negative about either side.
"Personally, I feel that if I were president, poise would be important. Leadership would be important. Taking responsibility for everybody ... I wouldn't shut [anyone who disagreed] out. I would actually include them. The first thing we'd do is we'd come and sit down and we'd talk about it. It's hard to categorize right now how I think he's doing, other than to tell you how I would operate," he said.
I mean the current president is in the WWE Hall of Fame anyways.
He's here to let the whole country know just what The Rock is cooking.

I mean he is the people's champion.
I have no doubt that Dwayne both has more strength of character and more empathy/sympathy than Trump ever has in his whole life.
Would probably have less scandals than the current guy but the same complete lack of qualifications. Pass.

Basically what every presidential speech would look like under any wrestler.
Not that I mind.
well our current president is a WWE hall of famer

Yeah well I doubt most presidents can solve world issues with a bomb ass elbow drop.

I'd vote for him.
Ahaha fuck it, I would love to see this happen

Drew Carey for President.
isn't The Rock a republican?
Yeah but a California Republican is basically centrist, just look at Schwarzenegger.
Jokes aside, I don't know how I feel about running for President increasingly becoming a publicity stunt for celebrities with no political experience.

One of the biggest things I warned about in respect to Trumps campaign last year.

Since Trump was elected, it's been proven that 0 political experience can get people elected. Even Oprah is considering.
Asked on Bloomberg Television’s “The David Rubenstein Show: Peer-to-Peer Conversations” whether she might run, Winfrey teased that the election of Trump stirred her interest: “I [had] thought, ‘Oh, gee, I don’t have the experience. I don’t know enough. Now, I’m thinking, ‘Oh.’”
Just pray that this election made everyone realise that turning it into a popularity contest is a terrible idea.
Drew Carey for President.
If Drew Carey runs, does that mean we can call the US Elections "Whose Presidential Seat Is It Anyway?"

It really hasn't. It's made a lot of them quite emboldened. Zuckerberg jumps to mind.
After that last election, anything is possible.

it's not really a problem because trump got put on the map due to his fame, but won because of his personality and promises (as vile as they are)
when he first announced he was running pretty much every republican laughed at him, but they still voted for him in both the primaries and the election
fame alone won't carry anyone into presidency

I mean, if Terry Crews became the US president for real....I can't really say I would be mad. He's a really nice adorable person and pretty much flies in the face of every single stereotype you could think of for "dumb brawny jock".

Yeah, The Rock lacks the experience to run a country but he is a good person. Which is more than our current president who is a terrible person, and does not have experience

Sometimes though it's hard to tell the errors Trump make are out of being terrible or just stupid.
most charismatic president in US history?

I think Trump excels at both.

We live in a world where The Rock would be a better president than the one the US currently has. Just let that sink in.
