Gamestop has always been a bag of cunts tbh
"UNLOCK x ONLY WITH GAMESPOT" except its an established feature of the game
never afraid to practically lie
Looks like yet another AAA game I won't buy.

Technically this is gamestops bulshit rather than Ubisofts

Unless you're shooing Ubi off for the pre-order DLC bullshit

Pre-order bonuses are nothing new, even if they're despicable.

The ad, yes, the act of actually doing it however? Entirely on Ubisoft.

Yeah, Ubisoft.
They had to (presumably) sign off on this shit so the fault lies with them too.
No it isn't
Obviously ubisoft themselves are at fault for having dlc in their own game, wasnt saying that

That is fair enough since i mean, they arent going to blindly allow gs to advertise for their game
This comes right after the mess with Shadow of War and Battlefront :v:
I'm completely fine with not buying any of these games, and I probably wouldn't bother touching them even if I managed to get them for free.
I'm just sick of these acts that they just leave a bad taste in my mouth and it makes me cynical towards the entire game, unjustified or not.
I genuinely like the ad because its suprisingly honest and upfront.
Physical game distributors need to die already.

I think you mean triple a publishing companies need to die already...

Amazon has done the same thing with exclusive pre-order content so the blame isn't there, at least directly there.
The problem is the players. This shit keeps getting worse cause peasants keep fucking preordering the shit.
Blocked until the complete edition or whatever they wanna call it comes out with all the dlc
I was kinda interested in this game, but now I'll probably only grab it once a heavily discounted "full edition" releases - if I'm even thinking about the game anymore by that point.
Nowadays indie games have become actual competition to AAA games for me, so I don't feel bad when I have to skip an AAA game that looked fun but was involved in too many scummy practices. Plenty of more stuff for me to play. Tho I realize that this won't hold true for people excited to play the types of games you need an AAA budget for, like Assassin's Creed's big world and cinematics.
