There used to be a thread for dreams, and I want to discuss them but can't find it.
I'm sure most of you know what i'm about to explain, but for those who don't here's a brief explanation of some dream junk.
The Basics
Recently i've been trying to get back into Lucid Dreaming. Lucid Dreaming is where you can manipulate imagery and do anything you can think of once you master it, most people just use it to live out their sexual fantasies though. Anyways to lucid dream you've got to work on dream recall, which is simply remembering your dreams. The easiest way to accomplish this is to write them down, then you can more actively realize when you're dreaming as you recognize similar patterns or objects.
Now that's really interesting stuff, but it comes with some messed up stuff as well. Sleep Paralysis, where your mind is still in sleep mode but you're awake, so you're likely having visual and auditory hallucinations, I myself usually never get past this stage because I can't logically think "Boy! If I make it through this I can do anything in my dreams!" my thought process is more along the lines of "Oh fuck oh fuck what was that who is opening that door holy shit close your eyes and wiggle your toe". I think Sleep paralysis is mostly a negative experience, but i've heard some people say nothing horrifying happens. My subconsious is just a bastard it seems. Let me share a couple instances of paralysis i've had.

My Dreams/Paralysis
1. I awoke to find myself paralyzed on my side, already it's pretty scary since ya'know, I like to have full control of my body, and as it was I only had control of my eyes. Now my head was facing more towards the bottom of my bed HOWEVER, at the top of my bed just outside my vision I could see a figure. I look up and can make out the body of a bird with the head of a black and white pug. The pug has lips that are moving swiftly as if it were applying lip chap or stick. It was also foaming at the mouth. Needless to say I shat my pants and did my best to wake my body up by moving my toes.
2. I awake again, this time on the opposite side, I have two doors in my room and was facing away from the one directly beside my bed. I hear whispers coming from behind me and I can just sense something coming through the door and crawling onto my bed JUST behind me, I freak the fuck out and try to scream, but my scream is but a peep. All I could do was close my eyes and wait for it to be over.
3. This last one happened this afternoon. it was pretty mild and sort of enjoyable. I awoke with my room lit up and the TV on, but with every breath I felt a lot of pressure on my chest, this is a common form, many people report a demon sitting on their chest to the same sensation. Though it felt like I couldn't breath, I knew I could and just went with it for a bit because it was kind of euphoric. When I snapped out of it and turned on my side I saw two black objects beside me, i was all "woah why are those there I must still be dreaming" and I peaced out before anything terrifying happened.

I've also had lucid or semi-lucid dreams where somethings happening like a robbery and I have the power to rewind and try again at any time, but i'm unaware I could do anything. It's still pretty rad. I've had some random fucking ones aswell, however excitement often wakes people up so i'd be giving it to some chick while rubbing the wall or my hands together to keep my mind busy so I don't wake up. I look ridiculous but no one can judge me now can they?
Lucid dreaming interests me because we all have to sleep at some time, usually for around 8 hours. That's 8 hours I could be slaying dragons, robbing a bank, fly through space, whatever. Yet I spend it having weird dreams about random things that happened to me during the day. It seems like a waste not to take advantage of it.
Another reason I'd like to become lucid more often is to conquer fears. Apparently if you face your fears such as heights or spiders, whatever you can overcome them. Usually I just run like a sissy or wake myself up. Right now i'm working on not waking myself up while paralyzed, I always do it for some reason. I know how to wake myself up but it just is beyond my capacity to comprehend lucid dreaming is up next.
Anyways, that's enough for now, lets get lucid.
Pretty sure it stills exists. But if not;
yay new thread
I seriously thought this was going to be a thread about Area 51. I'm disappointed.

I will make one just for you.
I have a few occasional ones.
I had one where I was in a convoy of HUMVEEs and we got ambushed. It didn't really end well for me there...

Shit, I remembered it being in GD, no wonder I couldn't find it.
Ok, contacted a mod so this'll probably close soon.

FYI Humvee is an onomatopoeia-zation of the abbreviation HMMWV, so it doesn't need to be capitalized.
