• Mama Mia! Kim Jong-il’s Italian Dreams Come True
It took nearly a decade, but Kim Jong-il finally has the eatery he craved above all: an Italian pizzeria offering authentic-tasting pies. Jong-il has desired a true, Italian-style pizza and pasta eatery in the country for ten years. In 2008, he sent a group of North Korean chefs to Naples and Rome, Italy to learn the recipes and techniques needed to create real Italian food. He’s had a team of pizza chefs in the country since the 1990s, an elite group which teaches army officers how to make the pizza he craves. http://www.weirdasianews.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/NKpizza.jpg The best in Italian wheat, butter, cheese and flour are being imported to North Korea to create these Italian-style treats. “Our people should be also allowed to enjoy the world-famous food,” said the manager of the restaurant, which is based in Pyongyang. After its December opening, the eatery has remained popular with local residents. And most importantly, Kim Jong-il can stay in North Korea whenever he craves a true Italian meal.
http://www.weirdasianews.com/2009/08/29/mama-mia-north-korean-restaurant-kim-jongils-dream-true/
Should have called Domino's. It's cheaper and faster.
:10bux: says only the high ups in the goverment even get to taste the good stuff.
Should have called Domino's. It's cheaper and faster.
And tastier, too.
Pizza with Pepporoni and Dog Yum.
Itarian
Should have called Domino's. It's cheaper and faster.
Papa John's is where it's at. [editline]05:04AM[/editline] Also, in before "North Korean pizza is best pizza!" e.t.c.
But... there's no one in Pyongyang streets :(
Wow, all that for pizza? Couldn't he just look up authentic recipes on the internet?
Kimmy makes me want to kill someone. He's so god damned stupid. :black101:
Papa John's is where it's at.
Papa Jong's :rimshot:
Well at least he'll be enjoying some good pizza. Unless they fuck the receipt over. And yeah, I bet only the top 0.01% of the population will even get to see it.
implying koreans could make good pizza or pasta
I have to admit, this isn't the kind of North Korea story I was expecting in these times.
i heard that one of the chefs escaped... his whole family is going to be put in a concentration camp now :(
And tastier, too.
how could dominoes be tastier than real italian food
how could dominoes be tastier than real italian food
how could dominoes be considered food
For North Korea, even making pizza is a military espionage operation which takes a decade.
how could dominoes be tastier than real italian food
Well I'm sure he didn't mean real Italian food, just the Italian food that will be made in NK. Right??
Wow, all that for pizza? Couldn't he just look up authentic recipes on the internet?
There's next to no internet access in NK. Why would anyone provide connectivity if there's next to nobody allowed to use it? :ohdear:
Sorry, but why did he want a pizzeria for authentic pies?
World peace at last!
how could dominoes be tastier than real italian food
Because I'm from Italy and Italian pizza doesnt have that succulent greasy heartclogging deliciousness.
"Pie" can refer to pizza as well, I think.
When the moon hits you eye like a big pizza pizza, that's amoré.
I hate when the word 'authentic' is used in the context of food. The North Koreans finally have 'authentic' pizza ! Because the ones they've been having we're all fake and made of fuckin' plastic? Wait, this is NK so maybe there's some truth in there !
"Pie" can refer to pizza as well, I think.
Want a splendid pie, Pizza-pizza pie! every minute, every second, buy! buy! buy! buy! buy!
I expected the Badage Boys. This is almost as silly.
:10bux: says only the high ups in the goverment even get to taste stuff.
fixed.
"Look dad, only 5000 North Korean Won!" "No son, that's twice our rent"
There's next to no internet access in NK. Why would anyone provide connectivity if there's next to nobody allowed to use it? :ohdear:
Actually north koreans have quite a few internet cafes and can use them usually unless Kim Jong Il has a bad day then he bans them. Same with cellphones, they were allowed then banned and i think they are allowed again.
:10bux: says only the high ups in the goverment even get to taste the good stuff.
God for fucks sakes any time you say something intelligent your avatar stares me down. :ohdear:
