Beam has evolved game streaming from a passive, watch-and-chat experience into one with real-time participation by allowing the viewer to directly influence a streamer’s gameplay and live broadcast. One of the best parts about Beam is that interactivity is easy for streamers to enable and customize, regardless of the game or platform. Beam is designed to work with any game, and will continue to offer broadcasts across all gaming platforms, just as it does today.
I use beam and fuckin love it, glad to see it getting some big corporate funding
I started using beam when supergreatfriend started streaming there. It's very nice for singleplayer streams because of the 0.2 sec delay. hopefully they don't get rid of that feature because omg le twitch competitor.
Never knew about Beam before, but God that interface is eyecandy compared to vanilla Twitch and Youtube Gaming.

They also have a leveling up system that isnt in twitch They also invented a new streaming protocol, unlike twitch that has a 15-30 second delay. The New FTL Protocol they made uses the same amount of bandwith and only 0.2 seconds of lag. it's a rebuilt OBS with some more features.
http://beam.pro check it out.
Yeah, I did right before I posted that. Also nice to see how it advertises streams a lot better than the other services.
Fuck it, if it works, I don't care who owns it. It'd be nice if Twitch had an actual competitor.
Imagine if Microsoft implements it's Tay AI in the chatroom.
I was going to make a comment asking why they didn't buy hitbox, but hell Beam seems a hell of a lot better investment
It's pretty smart how they're making it so you can earn the currency by disabling adblock.
just checked it out and the website seems to work very nicely and doesn't depend on fucking flash so that's automatically a plus over twitch. And it's just nice to not have twitch be the only viable streaming platform. [sp]yeah i know twitch can force html5 player but it sucks to do that in my experience.[/sp]
Beam's pretty fucking awesome, been using it for a while now. Friend of mine is one of their backend devs.
One of my friends is a back end/security expert for twitch but beam seems so much better I'll try it soon.
Thanks for the positive feedback guys, linked this thread to my colleagues.
