It is the nature of the crime, he actually physically assaulted someone. I'm pretty sure if he just stole the bag and ran off he wouldn't have a bond that large.

Reminds of the video posted around here awhile ago. Some dick bought some Nachos and while he was pumping cheese onto them and what not a security guard just walked up and asked if he bought them.
