Standing 4 feet high and 6 feet, 8 inches across, the new Sharp Aquos LED TV is called the biggest of its kind. STORY HIGHLIGHTS Sharp unveils a 90-inch Aquos, billed as the biggest LED TV in the world The TV stands 4 feet tall and is 6 feet, 8 inches across Set is less than 5 inches thick and weights 141 pounds The cost? Roughly $11,000 (CNN) -- How's this for a superlative? The biggest TV in the world. It may not be that simple. We know of at least a couple of plasma screens that are larger. But with a 90-inch screen, Sharp may have just rolled out the biggest LED high-def television on the market. The new Aquos LED TV, unveiled Tuesday, stands 4 feet tall and is 6 feet, 8 inches across. (As Consumer Reports notes, that means your television screen would be as wide as an average NBA forward is tall). It could be yours for $10,999.99.Seriously. They tacked on the extra 99 cents.Consumer Reports obviously didn't render a verdict after just a quick look, but noted that Sharp "has definitely taken the lead in larger TV screen sizes." It cited the 60-, 70- and 80-inch sets from the past, saying they had typically done well in TV ratings, although some of the monster screens had relatively narrow viewing angles."Of course," Consumer Reports added, "not everyone has the room -- or room in the budget -- for a 90-inch set."So, when rolling out the world's biggest TV (in its class, anyway), why bother with subtlety and understatement, right?Sharp Electronics of America President John Herrington said it "offers size, picture quality and smart functionality unlike anything consumers have experienced." But that was barely a warm-up for the news release accompanying the announcement."Imagine yourself standing at the precipice of the Grand Canyon," it reads. "It's 3,000 feet straight down. The wind howls in your ears. Your heart races as you leap forward and plummet toward the bottom. Just before you plunge into the river below ... you spill the popcorn all over the living room couch."That's the experience you'll get when watching the breathtaking 90-inch (diagonal) AQUOS LED TV (model LC-90LE745U), introduced today by Sharp."What do you think? Would you ever consider such a massive TV? Or would you just save the $11,000 for an actual trip to the Grand Canyon?
Source: http://www.cnn.com/2012/06/19/tech/gaming-gadgets/largest-tv-sharp/index.html So Help me god if someone already posted this. (And I searched and found NOTHING.)
Can you imagine watching porn on that thing? Clitori the size of fucking cats, man.
That's like the size of my penis, holy shit.
That's a big ass Television.
That's like the size of my penis, holy shit.
Your penis is a large, flat rectangle?
Biggest TV somehow reminds me of Biggest/Most Expensive car, just for Couch Potatoes.
Man, I wish I had a 90 inch LED TV to look at that picture of a 90 inch LED TV. Would look so much better.
problem is I bet this is still just 1920x1080, if you want better image quality go smaller, like 45"-60"
Robert Dinero's mole has gotta be ten feet wide. Fake edit: It's from a song about a huge TV.
On the main forum page all I saw of the title was "Sharp unveils big ass" I'm still not sure why I clicked it
This is a gimmick. It might be 90" but at 1080p it will look absolute shit.
Soon we'll have TV's the size of our walls.
Soon we'll have TV's the size of our walls.
Fahrenheit 451 much
Playing video games will be incredible.
Jesus thats big. We just got a 65 inch too. Its like the Moore's law of TVs
pretty unnecessary if you ask me
Imagine this with the pixel density of modern smartphones :v:
Can you imagine watching porn on that thing? Clitori the size of fucking cats, man.
That's one big pussy.
That's like the size of my penis, holy shit.
You mean it's as thick as your penis is long, right?
This is a gimmick. It might be 90" but at 1080p it will look absolute shit.
http://s3.carltonbale.com/resolution_chart.html According to this chart you would have to be about 12 feet away for "optimal" viewing. Any closer and it would start to look horrible.
This is a gimmick. It might be 90" but at 1080p it will look absolute shit.
Not at the proper distance away [editline]23rd June 2012[/editline] In fact, if you look at any screen bigger than your typical computer monitor at the distance you keep a computer monitor at from your head, the individual pixels are clearly visible.
24.5 dpi, eugh eugh eugh, my eyes would bleed looking at that. Now this is a proper TV: 85" @ 7680 x 4320
I still don't get the point of making a massive tv if you don't bother with the resolution.
So you can sit far away and many people can enjoy it?
Soon we'll have TV's the size of our walls.
Just get a projector.
90" TV Now with pixels the size of coffee tables!
Sounds viable... as soon as 4k becomes the norm.
Clitori
i have never heard the plural form of clitoris before you've expanded my vocabulary sir
i'm buying 3
I still don't get the point of making a massive tv if you don't bother with the resolution.
Well, give me some examples of the use for more than 1920x1080 pixels, and don't include regular computers. Not many devices nor material will be supporting more.
