I think it's at 20 - 30 pages

Don't know, it's that most of the threads weren't that big.

If there is, it seems to be somewhere around 1000 posts, seeing as some threads with just above that have been locked.

That's a very small limit imo. Some threads reach 30 or so pages in a day or two.

limit should be 100 pages or something.

It seems to close threads only when somebody posts in them. Windows 8 thread (218 pages) was open until I posted in it.

I agree on the fact that many threads are going to be closed within 1-3 days of being made.

What's the point of closing large threads anyway? It can't be for performance reasons because search also goes through old locked threads, so it still has to process the same amount of data.

Now begins the mass confusion over who is going to recreate the threads, and its gonna take a long ass time because nobody wants to accidentally make a duplicate thread.
