BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Settlers set fire to a Palestinian home in the Ramallah village of Sinjil overnight Wednesday, in an apparent revenge attack following the killing of an Israeli soldier, PA security sources said.

"I woke up at 2 a.m., and four or five people came out of a white car and started breaking windows, then poured gasoline, then threw fire into the house," mother-of-five Ruweida Dar Khalil told AFP.
"My kids were sleeping. I was scared to death. My kids almost died. I couldn't even touch the doorknob it was so hot."
Dar Khalil said the children, the eldest aged seven, were returned home after being taken to hospital.
"I need protection," she said. "I'm scared to sleep inside my home."

The source says "Settlers". I do grant you that you can criticize Israel and all, but was changing the title from "Settlers" to "Jews" really necessary?

Replace "terrorists" from the title with "settlers"

Actually when talking about israel, the term settlers might be more offensive than jews: it's mostly the fact that this land is not percieved legitimately as theirs that causes international controversy. Calling israelians settlers bears an implication on the legitimacy of their ownership of this land. Unless you mean to imply that, which i can agree with to some extent. Of course there's also the fact that it's easy to cause ruckus in the middle east by simply being a jew on top of that.
They're objectively jews, and subjectively settlers depending on one's opinion on the promised land's status.
But i'd say they're terrorists in their quality of settlers, not jews... The issue is intricate.

Mod can change it to "Settler Terrorists" or "Terrorist Settlers" if that makes you feel better.

Titles such as "Jewish terrorists" is pretty much saying "Gosh darn I just plain don't like those yids".
These aren't going to improve things as views on the conflict are already polarized.

You are jew or what?

No its really not.

they're jews aren't they? what difference does it make, when you mention settlers, people know its about israel anyway.

Do you make the same complaints when the Israeli media liberally uses "Arab terrorist(s)"?
You are jew or what?
Why the fuck would that matter?
they're jews aren't they? what difference does it make, when you mention settlers, people know its about israel anyway.
Because not all Jews are Israelite settlers?
Do you make the same complaints when the Israeli media liberally uses "Arab terrorist(s)"?
I'm asking you. The Israeli media has nothing to do with why you decided to replace "settlers" with "jewish terrorists".
Why not Israelis? Why did you use "Jewish"?
Do you make the same complaints when the Israeli media liberally uses "Arab terrorist(s)"?
sobotnik seems to be taking his title a little bit too seriously :v:

They're still terrorists, by the broad definition. Funny, we had an argument about this a little while ago, didn't we? Only in that case, you were using the term to describe Palestinians.
Why the fuck would that matter?

There is of course a distinction, but put in contrast with palestinians and due to the nature of the act, it is quite explicit that they'd be israelian citizens/sympathisants.

Actually it does, I wanted to make sure you could see how it feels like to have the shoe on the other foot.
Damn. If I lived around that part of the world I'd try my hardest to move the fuck out of there. I imagine it's not that simple though.
sobotnik seems to be taking his title a little bit too seriously :v:
It is a bit of a delicate issue, add to that the topic being quite serious in itself.
"Settler terrorists" sounds dumb af. There's nothing wrong with the title, he distinguished that they were terrorists as opposed to being representative of Jews as a whole.

if you're israeli, it probably is, if you're arab on the other hand well... :v: , i guess you could go to brazil, we do have around 9 million arabs/arab descendents, plus a healthy jewish community too, and no one cares if you're an arab or jewish, in fact brazil was praised for the fact in the Annapolis Conference, its one of the places the arab and jewish community get along pretty well.
"Settler terrorists" sounds dumb af. There's literally nothing wrong with the title, he distinguished that they were terrorists as opposed to being representative of Jews as a whole.
"Israeli terrorists" then?
If it's that big of a deal...

the term "jewish terrorist" might not be the best term. "israeli terrorist" is more accurate. i still don't like the term "terrorist" to describe people anyways though.

Using terror tactics against civilians might get you labeled as a terrorist, tough fucking luck.

it's a dumb term that doesn't actually mean anything.

so is every soldier in every army in a war a terrorist?
so is every soldier in every army in a war a terrorist?
So your argument is that every soldier is a terrorist because some soldiers that may or may not have followed orders, performed acts of terrorism?
