Gosh this thing is so worthless we already have things that can climb stairs (humans) so why do we need robots to do this for us why can't we just make robots to wash the underside of cars or something that we can't do I mean gosh!!!1!
It looks like it was hoisted up by that man with the rope. I guess it can't exactly stabilize itself yet.

He was pulling up all the wires and stuff that hang above him so that it didn't tangle/get stuck on him.
He is connected to power/computers/etc.
I don't get it. Why does it have to have human limbs? Is humanoid really the best fucking design ever? Or are we just so fucking narcissist?
Why can't it have 4 legs that bend both ways and 6 arms that also bend both ways? Wouldn't a robot like that be much more capable?

ladders![/QUOTE]

Okay so robots can now conquer ladders, stairs, probably just jump over the aforementioned baby gates and can also plot our death (that video of the two robots learning a language somewhere on here)
We're screwed

Ah, but you're missing the applications of this. For one thing, this is a massive step forward to
trans-humanism. Also, you're missing the point that we evolved into the form we use today. This is because be have a well-maintained balance of maneuverability over rough terrain, combined with or manipulators that allow us to perform many of the functions we take for granted. This is why we're not straight-up quadrupeds like goats and the like. Sure, we could use extra limbs and the like, but you need to consider that we're walking before we're running. This is the turning point, something about to turn into something great.

Also, what human has forward and inverted joints in the same leg?

I'm not saying this is bad I just don't understand the obsession with humanoids. I'm confident that if they were making a robot with 4 legs they would make it climb the stairs way faster.
What I mean is, they can make anything. They can make a robot with as many limbs and joints as they want but they focus on humanoids.
If this is for trans-humanism then I missed the point and the above is irrelevant.

I think the upper joint imitates hip...
Jesus imagine one of those chasing you it would be so scary
Crap, I can't find the scene I'm looking for. Oh well, have the quote:
I'll find those stairs. I'll whip their butt, too. Those stairs won't know which way they're going... take drastic steps, kick it to the curb. Don't mess wit' me. I'm the Stair Master. I've mastered the stairs. I wish I had a step right here, right now, I'd step all over it...
Jesus, that's amazing. The thing walks like freaking RoboCop.
