Try not to rely on layer effects and work on developing some painting skills, it'll enable you to do a lot more, with less.

Well, if they are all made from scratch then their not that bad. But that orange fireball brush is used a little much.

I hope it doesn't insult you or anything, but I set the ffff- thing as my wallpaper. I like them, most of them.

If you're using grunge and detail brushes to dirty up a design, or using rough brushes to make your Photoshop paintings look less digital, that's one thing. But by taking other people's complex designs and just slapping them onto a canvas with a few other things, you're not doing anything impressive or worthwhile. If you were to try to figure out how they made the design and do your own, you'd learn a lot more.

Either way, most of the brushes would consist of one or two of the branching off, pen effects. I'd just slap together a whole lot of them together etc. They'd range from 30 - 50 layers, but you've still got a point.
