Italy’s communications regulator (AgCom) has unanimously approved the new set of regulations governing online copyright after receiving the go-ahead from the European Commission. The regulation will enter into force on 31 March 2014.The three cornerstones of the new text are reinforced actions against online copyright infringers, not end users, the need for copyright holders themselves to initiate proceedings (AgCom will not act ex officio) and the introduction of measures aimed at developing a culture of legality in the use of copyrighted content on the web.
source in italian:www.ansa.it/web/notizie/rubriche/tecnologia/2014/03/28/Agcom-31-3-operative-regole-copyright_10298302.html source in english:http://www.telecompaper.com/news/agcom-approves-new-italian-online-copyright-regulation--985683 on my opinion, this is not going to be good since on first place it recived the agreement from the european commission, and essentaly, because the regulament itself is not clear and in case of illicit use of copyrighted content, they can oscurate the site via DNS block, oh and it's realy, realy vague. (also i may put more source about this whit more details as soon as possible)
This is fucking dumb. Italy get your shit together.
When are they going to get it through their thick heads that anti-piracy measures do absolutely nothing to stop piracy, pirates are always going to adapt to any measures put in place, the idea of educating people about copyright is laughable since your average person doesn't give a shit.

This can be said about every possible crime- it doesn't mean we should turn a blind eye towards illegal actions. Aside from that did you read the short paragraph? It doesn't seem they are going after individuals, instead concentrating their efforts on online copywrite infringers and they will require a complaint from the holder before they even do that.

At a first glance this doesn't seem to target end users at all, so hopefully it's a law that people put thought into. But then again I haven't actually read the law so it might just be ye olde "let's take down random video's on random sites as we please" shit.

Piracy is going to remain no matter what any government does, attempting to stop it is merely a waste of resources that could be better spent, just like the failed 'war on drugs' change to the law will have to eventually happen.
