Democratic due process would probably not effect the firing on of protesters. The country is a mess, there is bound to be a lot of problems, they had tried democratic due process already, and they didn't like that. It's unfortunate the military had to fill in the power vacuum, but I see no other way things would've changed. Rarely is there a "velvet revolution."

The army is digging its own grave

The brotherhood are really fucked off about Morsi being removed and have already said they will give their lives to change it. Sounds like extremists are likely, I don't blame them for taking no shit. But that's my opinion, I hope shit gets sorted soon.
