Need help - Minecraft problem's

I have had minecraft for a while now, but recently (2-5 week's ago) I've been having massive issues with Chat delays and block lag/delay.
I was wondering if anyone is getting this? If so how can I fix this? Im running MC in 1.8_1 BTW.
