wow this is terrible all around except for chris hemsworth attempting to save it
you can tell Bill Murray didn't want to be here
Terrible.
Wow, that scene after he got thrown out the window was funny until 2:50. The cop's delivery actually made me laugh and then they gave it the old SNL treatment and dragged it out and killed it
scientist, yet dumb enough to let a ghost loose.
I wanted to agree with McCarthy? because yeah, it's stupid to let the ghost out, but she was being so obnoxious about it that I didn't even want to agree.
As if this scene didn't already sounded like a half-assed version of the containment unit shutdown scene from the first movie in the leaked script. The catch is it was cut into thirds.

The other third being the part where[sp]the Ghostbusters are branded as hoaxes, thus detained from their jobs[/sp]and another where[sp]Rowan[/sp]unleashes ghosts to wreck havoc across the city.
i can't believe they just started listing off patrick swayze movies
that don't count as a joke
he look's dead inside
That's what happens when you are forced to be in a movie. (apparently)
Jeez they weren't kidding about the main group just going off character entirely to try and put dialog together on the spot
Actors aren't writers, this isn't SNL, what were they thinking
From what I've heard, isn't this the only scene that talks about storing ghosts? Apparently it all goes out the window later on and they decide that proton packs actually destroy shit instead of containing it
Only reason I'd watch this is because that blonde chick is fine as hell

there's absolutely nothing wrong with letting your actors do improv
as long as you have the brains to know when their improv sucks

It's because Paul Feig isn't a director.
is it supposed to be funny? I don't get it.
"Boo-yah!
...Emphasis on the 'boo'"

So Bill isnt even in it as his original character? Weird.
Amazing, the only laugh from the audience was from Chris's line, otherwise it was dead silent and damn near uncomfortable to watch.

Yeah the movie is a complete reboot, the old cast just show up as random cameos.
This scene is borderline offensive to any ghostbusters fan imo. Looking past how much Bill Murray doesn't want to be there, it just comes off as Sony telling the fans that the old ghostbusters doesn't count, and their 2016 rendition is the real deal, with Bill Murray, the old guard, being forced to sit and listen about how he knows nothing about ghosts by the new "real" ghostbusters.

Calm down, she's a lesbian.

This movie has absolutely nothing to do with the previous Ghostbusters movies, being a reboot set in its own continuity.
Also, Paul Feig is absolutely apathetic if not outright deliberately castrating the status of a franchise and its roots in order to get his echo chamber of shit out the door.

That was kinda painful to watch, they were really streching to make a joke.
Poor fucking bill.

Dude this is the internet, that just gets us more excited.

The only funny part about this movie was the creative process behind it. In interviews and all sorts of shit Feig goes on and on about how the cast had amazing chemistry but the alleged reality is they could barely work together.
Improv stuff is great when it works but in movies where it's worked everybody involved went in with that idea and they're all people who have usually worked together before.
Not to mention the scene he was super stoked about directing (a HILARIOUS dance number in the middle of New York with a bunch of cops and army dudes HA HA) didn't even end up happening.
Even in production the movie was a fucking flop.

Well it did, but not where he wanted it to be.
But boy the intern they set on making that work really put the time in.
That was a really shit scene.

It's especially weird when the first trailer makes reference to the original Ghostbusters saving the world, then the new movie pretty much plays it off like they never existed and it brings back the old actors to do fuck all.
I find it funny how when the ghost pops out, Murray's hat flies off, only to appear back on his head, and stay on while he falls out a window. Of course continuity is the least of the issues here.
