• Something different for a change: The USA is second-slowest while Australia is fastest when it comes
OpenSignal has released a report today looking at the state of LTE coverage and speeds around the world, revealing that, contrary to what you might expect, not all LTE networks perform comparably. While 4G is a convenient term for consumers to get their heads around, the performance of networks being rolled out in different countries is wildly variable, with some operators actually showing overall declines in 4G download speeds in the last year. For example, the data (covering the second half of 2013) shows that in the US, 4G download speeds have dropped from an average of 9.6Mbps in the second half of 2012 to 6.5Mbps for 2013 – a decline of more than 30 percent. No particular operator seems to be at fault of dragging the average down either; the report notes that “the USA networks uniformly perform poorly for speed – with Metro PCS recording the slowest speeds of all eligible networks”. The US wasn’t actually the slowest country overall, the Philippines took that spot with an average speed of 5.3Mbps. It’s not just spectrum allocations that can have an effect on speeds, though. Staggered network rollouts, equipment upgrades – and the resulting additional customers – can all come together contribute to a more congested service. At the top of the country list was Australia, which had improved its average download speed by 42 percent; going from 17.3Mbps to 24.5Mbps.
http://thenextweb.com/mobile/2014/02/20/4g-data-usa-second-slowest-australia-fastest/#!wNxJw Now we can rejoice in our excellent phone plans! in 2011 my at&t 4G LTE phone got 50-80 mbps download in 2013 i get around 5 mbps from at&t i only pay $40 a month for my phone bill but what the fuck
I get 60-90Mbps on 4G here. For $30 a month with 10GB of downloads, I'm pretty happy with it.
My phone is through StraightTalk and uses Sprint towers. Dont think ive ever found 4g service, i do get 3g though. I pay $45 a month for unlimited talk, unlimited text, and 2.5Gb of data
I get 60-90Mbps on 4G here. For $30 a month with 10GB of downloads, I'm pretty happy with it.
Shit nigga who are you with

I'm paying $30 for 2GB of data, those plans in the OP suck. It would be interesting to see the plans when we actually get 4G over here, you'd burn through 2GB pretty quickly with a 100Mbps mobile connection (And 1Gbps for a "static" connection).
Fucking cunts at verizion. They were charging me $112 a month for one phone and 1gb of data. Every other month my bill would creep up another dollar or two. When I first signed my contract it was $95 a month, so I stopped paying my bill. For over a year I paid my bill on time or early, but my bill still kept going up.

That makes sense because my 4G internet on my phone is faster than my home internet. Although my home internet is pretty crap.
Most internet plans are slower than mobiles here, nobody wants to spend money to upgrade the phone infrastructure.
Yeah, I may only be getting 2MB/s, but we have the only unlimited data plan. [editline]22nd February 2014[/editline] and im on a family plan, so im only paying $45 a month
So I am a lone survivor of AT&T's Unlimited Everything plan. They don't supply it anymore and people been dropping off of it. I don't know how much MB/s I get, but I know they've been Throttling me trying to scrap me off of there plan. But nope, I am not going to leave it. It's not like I am attached to my phone that much, plus I like how they keep calling me and try to get me to switch plans.

Man paying $65 for my phone plan with 1.5GBs cap really paid off!!
2.5gb data? dont they advertise it as unlimited?
unlimited*
My phone is through StraightTalk and uses Sprint towers. Dont think ive ever found 4g service, i do get 3g though. Fuckin derro's. Get ya self some proper fucking plans and shit cunt. But seriously mate, that's the only thing we got going for us. Our internet is slow as fuck and we'll be on copper until the year 3000.
fuck you guys, 4g isn't even available in half of the city I live in ;-; not to mention cellphone plans are still expensive, I pay 19nz a month for 50 minutes calling, unlimited texts and 500mb 3g data :v: it used to be way fucking worse too, I didn't even know 3g existed until like 2011ish.
I didn't even know 4g already exists
While my country isn't that great in most aspects, at least our communications sector is amazing. I pay 10$ for unlimited texts and calls to all providers plus 2gb of data and I pay 16$ for 100/100 Mb/s unlimited optic fiber internet. So yeah, I can't imagine paying this kind of money for internet and phone plans.
It's incredibly how much more phone contracts are in other countries. In the UK I pay £30 a month for my phone (HTC One), unlimited texts, 500 minutes and unlimited 4G. I can't imagine paying more than that.
Unfortunatly my phone on telstra barely gets 3G (I only use free facebook anyway, fine on 2G) Then there's the PC
I didn't even know 4g already exists
When I found out about it I was like "b-but they only invented 3G a few months ago, what the fuck", but then I realized that it's just my country
