• Need a hand developing a character.

So we've got this brief where we have to create a character, but we've not to include any physical descriptions. Just their personality, likes, dislikes, backstory, hobbies, fears... shit like that. I'm really struggling to be honest, it's really hard to pluck something like this out of thin air and still make it interesting. A couple of ideas I had were a 10 year old kid who's incredibly smart, but has an irrational phobia of being abducted by aliens wherever he goes. He's very paranoid and quirky, maybe he wears a tinfoil hat? He could fancy a young girl... but his plans to be friends with her are constantly thwarted by his social awkwardness and paranoia? Think that would be kinda cute. Another idea was an ageing hippy who lives on the road. Or some sort of spy... I'm struggling here, any help or creative input would be much appreciated. It can be as serious or as silly as you want, but please don't shit up the thread with crude/useless replies :( Cheers.
The smart yet paranoid kid sounds pretty good actually. He seems to have some depth, and calls for questions to be asked upon whatever he does, to spot his motivation.
I reckon... maybe he could be trying to communicate with the aliens... asking why he behaves the way he does and give him some sort of autism. that might make it a bit creepy though lol.
