The actor, who was known as Rick Medina on the Power Rangers shows, was arrested by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies on Saturday after a fight between Medina and his roommate, Joshua Sutter. Police said that Ricardo Medina Jr. tried to hide inside his bedroom with his girlfriend, but Sutter forced his way into the door. Medina then stabbed Sutter in the abdomen with a sword. Medina called police, and Sutter was taken to the hospital but pronounced dead when he arrived. Ricardo Medina, Jr., starred on Power Rangers Wild Force in 2002. He later appeared on Power Rangers Samurai, where he played a mysterious sword-wielding figure named Deker. Medina also made a number of other television appearances, including the VH1 reality show Kept, in which he and 11 other men vied to become a “kept man” of supermodel Jerry Hall. It was not noted whether the sword Medina allegedly used to stab Sutter was related to his work on the Power Rangers series. Medina’s IMDb profile noted that he is a collector who keeps items related to his favorite toys, including Transformers. Medina also aspired to be a role model, with his profile noting, “[Medina] was inspired to act because he wanted to use the attention to make a difference and be a positive role model.” Medina appears to have left acting, and now works with The Hollywood Men, a group of male strippers based out of Los Angeles. The group has made a number of television appearances, the company noted.
Self-defense. If he weren't in California, there wouldn't be a chance of the charges sticking.
Damn. Loved Power Rangers Wild Force :(
With any self defense situation you're going to get arrested, because Any death involving a weapon gets treated as a homicide. From what I've read he hasn't been charged yet, and he may not charge him if they do determine it was out of self defense.
If this was a story of a random guy killing a dude with a sword, you probably think why the hell he did it. But if the guy was an actor on some show, you get a grand sense of irony.
something something sword joke (User was banned for this post ("why reply" - Orkel))

It's doubtful he meant to kill the guy, but the sword was probably the only thing handy for the situation. It doesn't matter if the roommate was drunk or high or whateverthefuck. If the situation is as has been described, I support Medina 100% in this.
Funny, I just played through the first Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney game. The third chapter is one in which a guy who played a costumed hero in a kids' show allegedly stabbed one of his co-actors with a spear.
Lets face it. Superheroes kinda lose their minds after they've done their primary objective. Everything after becomes dull.

This stuff here,
Ricardo Medina, Jr., starred on Power Rangers Wild Force in 2002. He later appeared on Power Rangers Samurai, where he played a mysterious sword-wielding figure named Deker.
Police said that Ricardo Medina Jr. tried to hide inside his bedroom with his girlfriend, but Sutter forced his way into the door.
seems pretty reasonable self-defense, overly sensational headline though missed the chance for sword weilding ex-power-ranger saved innocent girl-friend with sword
Can't have positive news now can we?
With any self defense situation you're going to get arrested, because Any death involving a weapon gets treated as a homicide
that is incorrect. there are news reports and police reports all the time of home invaders, muggers, etc being killed and the victim not being arrested
that is incorrect. there are news reports and police reports all the time of home invaders, muggers, etc being killed and the victim not being arrested
yea because those are home invaders and muggers. when somebody that co-habits the same house is killed by the other person, that calls into question whether or not it really was justified.
This stuff here, Takes up half the article and is completely irrelevant to what happened :v:
Kids' shows cause violence. Ban cartoons.
yea because those are home invaders and muggers. when somebody that co-habits the same house is killed by the other person, that calls into question whether or not it really was justified.
I understand and agree with that, but that's not what he said. He said "in ANY self defense situation" which was slightly incorrect.
Kids' shows cause violence. Ban cartoons.
Music with swear lyrics cause our kids to swear. Ban all music.
Lets face it. Superheroes kinda lose their minds after they've done their primary objective. Everything after becomes dull.
Did you even read? This was self-defense.
Did you even read? This was self-defense.
I am ill-equipped to detect the difference between playing along or genuine misconception on the internet anymore.
Why do they reveal the names of the people involved?
