Anthropology: The Mass Media's Affect On Our Perception - General

Hi, I'm VengDaSinner- I'm not really known here around Facepunch but I do tend to lurk through a bunch of threads and I've come to realize the lot of you are pretty intelligent. Anyhow, I'm conducting a small survey to determine if the media does really affect our perception, and my theory is that when the consumers hear things from the media they immediately tell others which spread like wild-fire, and it eventually imbues into our society overtime. I wanted to show some of people in my anthropology class that the "Marijuana kills Brain Cells" thing was a huge Reefer Madness movement and the experiment was just attaching a gas-mask to a monkey and forcing it to inhale THC, and obviously it lost braincells from Oxygen Deprivation. Also regards to the Tommy Hilfiger incident, it was a huge hoax and my teacher told me how the founder went onto Oprah and told the audience the exact quote- and that's what opened up my eyes to how badly the media's influenced us socially. (When my History Teacher believed the story and even told the whole class)

(even to some extent). If smoked, it can be bad for you, similar to anything that is smoked. However, utilizing a vaporizer erases virtually every negative effect of consuming THC.
